Trey Burton-TE-Iggles

I can't decide if I'd rather have this guy or drafting one of the many rookies in this class......
I would take him looked great w/ got PT

I believe he's set to blowup with regular playing time. Tremendous versatility and playmaking skills.

Sign Burton and trade Celek?
I'd rather draft Mike Gesicki from Penn State. Burton is going to get paid this offseason and I could see the team rolling with Celek, Kittle, and a rookie.
Would rather have Tim Burton
I've had my eye on Burton since mid season when he came and balled out when Ertz was injured. He'd be fantastic in this offense.
We have too many needs to be drafting a TE until round 5 at the earliest, and they prob wouldn't be better than Celek.

I'm fine rolling with what we have this year at TE. Not sure how good Burton is or how expensive he would be. Sign a CB, LB, DE and/or LG before thinking about a TE imo.

I agree with that.

His blocking leaves something to be desired, however, that might also improve with more PT.

It would create a bit of a log jam at TE with Celek having come on well under JG, and Kittle who also showed promise in the tail end of the year.

Yeah maybe his blocking improves with more PT but you can't bank on that...IMO he's basically a WR. When he's on the field it kinda tips off the play call because you know it's gonna be a pass play. Kyle likes his TEs to be able to be blockers and pass catchers.

I like Burton but I'm completely fine with who we have...I think Cole hikutini could turn into a Trey Burton as well.

Yeah I think someone over pays. I'm cool going into next season with the TEs we have and put the money elsewhere.
I'd drop 7 mil on him for 4 years. He's in his prime and will suit our offense better than overpaying on some older or more injury prone FA WR's.

Still have the same feeling about Burton like I did with Juice last year. He's such a good fit for this offense that I expect the 49ers to at least make a heavy pursuit of him in FA.

If this turns Kittle into a TE2...it would be perfect.

Could be a useful weapon and redzone target if they don't land a guy like Robinson. Shanahan loves his 2 TE sets and Burton gives him a TE with a skillset similar to his former college teammate Jordan Reed.
