Allen Robinson best FA WR

Robinson is a perfect fit. His catch radius is big. He gets the jump ball and he can stretch the field. He would be a big red zone target. He can be a 8-14 TD type of player. With Jimmy G, who throws a catchable ball almost every time despite only a small sample will help Robinson. Robinson is the #1 choice for FA WR if available.

Edit: I COMPLETELY agree!

Other than his ACL tear...there is ZERO reason to look at Robinson's young career and see anything less than a LEGIT #2 WR with STRONG #1 upside.

The f**king guy has had Blake Bortles throwing him the football the last 3 years.

As I've said earlier...even if he couldn't come back until after week 6 (return from PUP) in 2018...testing to see how great this guy could be with Jimmy G I think is a no brainer. I'll be seriously interested to see what/how/if ShannyLynch go after him this offseason.

Plenty of WRs put up numbers with crap QBs. Jacksonville was normally trailing giving them tons of opportunity. He put up numbers due to volume. His catch percentage is terrible. It is the worst of the Jacksonville receiving trio over the past three seasons.

I'm not saying he is a bad player. I'm saying he has red flags outside of the obvious injury one. Any multi-year deal would be a big gamble. One we don't really need to take.

A one year incentive laden deal would be great. I doubt he wants that. He hasn't gotten a big pay day in his career and will likely go for more security even if he ends up underpaid by breaking out.

I wouldn't be that concerned. He's not Lee or the other Jax WRs. He excels at contested catches, so ball placement matters more. There's less room to adjust to the ball in the air.

I see Robinson fitting our RZ offense as that receiver to throw ally oop passes to.
Not sure if anyone saw this https://www.google.com/amp/s/ninernoise.com/2018/01/11/49ers-2018-nfl-free-agency-wide-receiver-allen-robinson/amp/

It's written by a fan with no actual facts or statistics to back it up. It's talks in circles and makes blanket statements without proof.

Will be surprised if he hits the market.

I think it would be a good signing, provided we have an understanding like you said. He's a solid #2, with potential to become #1. He's definitely not there yet. Combine that with his injury and he's probably not going to be integrated into the offense until later in the season. With that in mind, what's his price range going to look like? Is he a $12-14M guy? You're not getting a full season out of him, so it's hard to justify paying him that.

I do think he looks a little better than Pryor did last year. Both had question marks. So, is a $10M prove-it deal his market? Maybe slightly more. It'll probably take him 2 years to prove it though.

Guy has a great ability to adjust to the ball while it's in the air and has since college. If he stays healthy with a good qb he's easily a top 10 receiver. He's a dark horse that could come cheap.

He won't come cheap. He might sign a one year "prove it" deal that is similar to the one Alshon signed during the off-season, but he's only 24yo and I'm guessing some desperate team will offer him something better than that.

Jags will tag him, IMO.

Probs right lol. But were legit a sweet landing for him to be productive and get a sweet contract, with us or not.
We scored 44 pts against the Jags D with Daniel "Sled" Kilgore at center, Zane "at least I have good hair" Beadles at RT,, and our #1 receiver was on the I.R. We lost a record amount of games by the least points ever with Brian "glad he's gone" Hoyer and C.J. Beathard (lots of heart, much respect). With everyone coming back healthy, our rookies with 1 yr experience, I don't think we need to foolishly spend money. Re-sign the keepers, sign a few middle of the pack guys, draft smartly like last year, and extend those that deserve to be extended. We're closer than everyone realizes. BUT SIGN JIMMY LONG TERM!!!

They were forced to throw because they were down by so much because our offense was unstoppable
