No one is getting that far down the road. We are talking about what is going to happen before the April 1st deadline.
1. He first needs to pass a physical before anything can go down.
2. If he can't then the 49ers need to make a choice to have an $11.9m possible backup or cut him and owe him nothing.
3. There is never a guar.
None of his injuries are considered difficult to heal or have a high degree of complications. No reason to think he wont be fully healthy by June.
49ers cant cut him prior to April 1st without working out an injury settlement which would be a large chunk of money.
At this point there is absolutely no reason to cut him before Apr 1st.
not the way it's posted on his contract
If they cut him before April 1st they would only owe him some of his back bonus money. They would save over $9m on this years cap by cutting him before April 1st.
Only if he passes a physical can we cut him before April 1st and get money back.
duh
That's the point lol... they can't cut him because he's not gonna pass the physical in a couple weeks. these are the options
1. trade him before or after 4/1 doesn't matter.
2. He's not gonna pass the physical by 4/1 reportedly...so he will be on the roster and get $11.9... He will be checked by team doctor and once healthy HAS to go to camp and suit up or he loses checks just like any player.
3. cut him and lose $11.9 million
