says his $11.9m in guaranteed for injury by April 1st. If he can't pass a physical by then and he's still on the team he gets the $11.9m.
a career ending injury payout is $36.9m paid to Kap. Kap ins. policy would give $20m to SF.
He doesn't get that cash if he holds out...just like Chandler kept losing cash for games/training camp missed last season.
Also you'd better bet your ass any ins agency is gonna check to see if kap's injuries are"career ending" before they fork over that kind of coin.
who's talking a hold out? I said if he doesn't pass his physical he doesn't have to show up for anything. His contract is injury guaranteed. Meaning the team can pay him $11.9m or cut him.
What Denver is hoping on is that he doesn't pass his physical and the 49ers just cut him.
He's gonna be healthy before their first training camp in July regardless...He can't sit and play possum when SF's doctor clear him. They aren't gonna cut him an owe him $12 million when he can play.
If he doesn't show up to camp like everyone else he won't make his money...he had his surgery beginning of Jan and it was reported he would be fully healthy in 4-6 months.
No one is getting that far down the road. We are talking about what is going to happen before the April 1st deadline.
1. He first needs to pass a physical before anything can go down.
2. If he can't then the 49ers need to make a choice to have an $11.9m possible backup or cut him and owe him nothing.
3. There is never a guarantee with how injuries heal.
