Definitely a bit depressed after Day 1. I really expected the ONE signing by the FO to make the Fan base a bit optimistic.

Does anybody really know from a solid source whether or not we actually made a competitive bid on a FA who turned it down to elsewhere?

I think I'm starting to believe the theory that between the perception of the FO being fairly inept and Players not being fond of Chip Kelley, it has made the 49ers a place very few want to come to. The Draft may be our only hope and I'm losing confidence in Baalke's drafting prowess.

Matt Maiocco ‏@MaioccoCSN 10m10 minutes ago Former KC Chiefs CB Sean Smith is now a member of the Raiders, said @davidcanter, his agent. The #49ers were among the interested teams.

There is a lot of grey in between Interested and turned down

Do you not listen to NFL radio or read any other sports news? Since last night they were saying the Raiders and 49ers were the two teams left in the running to land him. That means his agent was flapping both teams back and forth to get the best deal. 49ers already said they would not overpay for anyone. Well when you don't have an attractive FO more money is what it's going to take. Of course the player could also just tell his agent no way I'm going to SF so just take what you can get from the other team.

That's the part I'm afraid of. I'm starting to feel (yes, FEEL) like that is what is happening. Too many mistakes over the last couple of years has taken it's toll on me. I will get over it because I will always be a Fan. I will be hopeful of a good draft and some good, mid-tier FA's in the next several days.

Yet I still FEEL similar to the way I felt many years ago right after Eddie D was forced to sell the Team and the York's ineptitude slowly took down the Franchise (yes, we were in Salary Cap Hell, but I FELT like ownership under Eddie D was always striving for a winning Team. Now I feel like the York's got their Stadium and don't give a damn about winning. Again.

Season ticket licenses are locked in for what the next 30 years? They don't have to win a damn thing to keep making money. They make more from a Taylor Swift concert anyway.

There is our answer right there. The Yorks got paid and now they DON"T GIVE A darn about winning, losing or drawing.

2016 NFL free agency: Ted Larsen 'has really good interest' from teams, visits 49ers http://www.snsanalytics.com/YiwJy1

Report by the end of today: "Ted got the biggest offer from the 49ers, but is taking his talents to the Browns, who are not a complete dumpster fire comparatively speaking."

Larsen sucks. He's the Erik Pears of guards.
IF we can get a combo of these players I will be happy...

Geoff Schwartz - OG
Stefen Wisniewski - C
Jerrell Freeman-ILB
Robert Ayers -OLB
Patrick Robinson-CB
Jahri Evans-OG
James Laurinaitis-ILB
Nick Perry-OLB
Casey Hayward-CB
Alfred Morris-RB
Lance Dunbar-RB
CJ Anderson-RB
Junior Galette-OLB
Sean Weatherspoon-ILB

I'm pissed we didn't make any moves on the top players for whatever reason, but it's over time to move on...there's still some talent out there. We are clearly rebuilding (mainly through the draft).
The fact that Sean Smith picked the Raiders over us, i think shows that players don't wanna play here for a few obvious reasons.

I'm curious to see who we even pull in, guaranteed it won't be anything great.
Shelby to ATL? Is that real? I liked him as a smart value pick up.

Carlos Rodgers was not playing well in DC, then he played at a Pro Bowl level for a year or two here. Sometimes it's fit. IDK, last year was certainly an ugly sh!tstorm for Trent in FA, but he usually puts in good work in FA. Last year is just as likely to be proven as an outlier than the new trend. We can still look pretty solid if we land Geoff Schwartz, Casey Hayward, and Nick Perry. We look even better if we gather a meaningful draft pick for Kap and his suddenly super-affordable salary.

Agree, was just hoping for at least a solid vet player to help with the younger guys. I'm not seeing it. Our OL is a major problem and I don't trust A. Davis to be back 100% after a full year off and these other guys got me scratching my head. Hope for the best is all we can do.

I like it. I would throw in Jared Crick and Reuben Randle personally

Team has no chance with Baalke/Jed. After they jettisoned a winning coach Harbaugh, Aint no one wanna come here unless its out of desperation and even then they still say no thanks. Welcome to Expansionville USA People. Yorked effed up and he eefffed up Bigtime. At least he shoulda gotten rid of Baalke a Long Time ago but for some ungodly reason, he holds onto him Like the Sultan and Jaffar in the movie Aladdin
Patriots just got snubbed by Rishard Matthews for the Titans....the TITANS!!!???

So, based on the theory no one is signing with the Niners because of York / Baalke / Kelly, I / we can assume not one wants to play for perennial contenders based on the fact the Patriots have not signed a "Big Time" FA as of today....and lost out on Matthews to the Titans?

The Patriots have a super bowl roster and limited cap space. They don't have the resources or need to overpay for players. We have a dumpster fire roster and a ton of cap space. At some point we may have to pay slightly over market price to convince someone to play for this organization

Wouldn't mind seeing what Randle can do in Chip's offense. H

As just a player I wouldn't be completely against it. But his bats!#t crazy wife is not something you want around.
