The "We can't think of a good name for the Jon Baldwin thread" thread

Vernon could of had a 80+ yard TD and VM could of had a couple more catches, lets hope Kap sees the plays he missed and keeps improving.

Im not getting ahead of myself, i just think he as more of what we are looking for with an outside receiver, williams is quick but doesnt have the size or physical build you want from an outside receiver, personally i think williams is more fit as a slot receiver, and the main reason he is our #2 is experience in the league and in this specific offense.

Good first step for Baldwin. Next step will be at Houston. He has a long week to get ready for that game.

Boldin, Baldwin, and Patton (hope he is not hurt very badly) sounds like a potentially decent combination.
I'm not getting excited over 2 catches.

Hey, it is 2 more than AJJ. And this is just Baldwin's 1st game active. Might not be exciting but your interest should at a minimum be piqued
I get he only caught two passes, but they were the kind of passes I've been wanting ANYONE not named Boldin to catch. It was refreshing to see him catch that slant route, and they out route, because it suits what we SHOULD be doing on offense. Pounding the running game, and throwing short-mid/long range passes to move the sticks. He complimented Boldin in providing that element for us tonight, and Kaepernick made use of it. I honestly think this tiny little two catch performance can lead to so much more, only time will tell.

TLDR, Keep giving Baldwing another shot.

you should 1 he threw it to him in tight coverage so he trusts him already more than he did williams
and 2 he made the catches which is something williams wouldn't have done.

and this is his first game and yes they played man to man on the 49ers tonight

but you can't double boldin with a 6'4" wr on the other side and vd in the game.

you can with kyle williams in the game.

hopefully they look at the tape and realize this
his second catch was impressive, even though he just missed the first down.

it was behind him, but just snagged it and quickly brought it to his body.....I want him starting opposite of Boldin dammit..

exactly. its only this dudes third year, i wouldnt be surprised at all if he emergese as a threat. keep throwin to him if he keeps catchin em. we need all the legit targets we can get even if he becomes a good possession receiver, at 6'4" thats more than welcome here

Last year we had more mis-matches with Crabtree, moss, VD and Walker.

williams is a speedy slot wr PERIOD.

im glad they realized baldwin was the better choice.

imagine him 1 on 1 in the red zone with a db...

you just toss it to him.

you just cannot double boldin when baldwin is on the field. its really that simple. hopefully they realize it like they realized after 1,000 posts about running the ball.

That's right, that's what I have been talking about. The kid demands coverage, so the defense will have to pick their poison.

Though, we only did it a couple of times with Randy freaking Moss..

I'm hoping for the same thing though, really enjoyed seeing him catch some action tonight and make some plays, We fleeced KC in that trade.
