And bigger, more physical WR's like Boldin...in the Superbowl...on a critical 3rd down.

I don't understand the 1 year signing...
Our defense is awesome and can only help Asomugha.. if the guy ends up having a great season, then we'll have the hardest time re-signing him..
I wonder if we even offered to sign him for a two to three year contract..
I'd like him to wear #47!!

Looking like we will trade up in the draft and/or trade our picks this year for higher picks next year.
Definitely wouldn't mind building some picks up for next year. That or using them on depth this year and for next year. Only starting spot that needs filling is really FS... possibly NT.
Free agents for after this year:
Brown, Whitner, Justin Smith, Dawson, McCoy, Tolzien, Cox, Boldin, Williams, Manningham, Goodwin, Dixon, Dobbs, Tukuafu, Haralson, McBath, Moore, Wilhoite, Hastings, etc. That's a lot of FA's. Will need depth to replace the ones that leave.

- The FO now has leverage in renegotiating Carlos Rogers' contract THIS year (or release; even with dead money - only 1M savings this year.)
- Explore a FS move from Nnamdi and/or Culliver
- Competition, competition, competition. Rogers' half-assed it ALL year long. He's on watch from this moment on.
- Veteran savy. We can still draft a taller, physical, aggressive, talented CB who can develop behind guys such as Nnamdi/Rogers/Brown.
Why would you release Rogers to save 1M against the cap? He was a good corner

from the reports he wanted nothing guaranteed which is why he signed an incentive-laden deal. I think Nnamdi wants to prove himself however if he does I don't think he'll leave us I think he'd want to stay.

Not saying we would BUT if Nnamdi wins the job Rogers will be making $7,344,531 to sit on the bench (or play slot if he can). Cutting him we acquire dead money but do save 1.1M against the cap this year. He'd have to restructure...if not, we COULD cut him.

So in other words, it saves Jed York millions of dollars, but would be a move that would make the 49ers worse?

Where is all the culliver hate coming from? He said some stupid s**t and got burned a few times but his regular season was really, really solid. I swear some 49ers fans have the memory of a goldfish
