Nnamdi Asomugha was a 49er

I see us grabbing two dl men in the draft and the best part is they will really just be there for depth as I feel confident with Dorsey smith and ray Mac as our base package. I expect us to sub a lot more this year and have a very well rested mean d line at all times

Looking like we will trade up in the draft and/or trade our picks this year for higher picks next year.
Rogers blows as a slot cover CB, anyone remember him vs Amendola?

It's a moot point right now - we don't know what Revis will be like. Will he be close to what he was before? Probably. I think it's a bit unreasonable to sign Revis now - the 49ers are almost hard against the cap as it is.

Good signing but still somewhat window dressing to me. It says to me the 49ers are going to definitely go DL/pass-rusher, TE, or S (is there a once-in-a-lifetime-player at this position this year?) with their first pick(s). This signing won't help at all if we don't improve the pass-rush where it sustains all year - rotating some fresh, effective contributors off the bench. Letting Soap, RJF was more an indictment of the whole NT rotation than it was about $ I think. I think the 49ers are looking at DL heavy and this just helps them do so.

Also I think Brock and Culliver need to be pushed after so many huge gaffes.
Yup TE FS and D line!!!and our picks will prob number in the teens again next year!!!!!

What ppl haven't mentioned is that this signing and impending competition allows for several options:
  • The FO now has leverage in renegotiating Carlos Rogers' contract THIS year (or release; even with dead money - only 1M savings this year.)
  • Explore a FS move from Nnamdi and/or Culliver
  • Competition, competition, competition. Rogers' half-assed it ALL year long. He's on watch from this moment on.
  • Veteran savy. We can still draft a taller, physical, aggressive, talented CB who can develop behind guys such as Nnamdi/Rogers/Brown.
I was going to edit it but its too good

This. +1
With this signing I honestly think we can take a good look at Carlos Rogers at FS.

It depends on if the wr likes sweets or not.

Ohh I get it.. Rogers is here to stay. I think he can have a great season as long as we can pick up a slot corner. Carlos gets bashed a bunch on the site but he is generally good unless going against the smaller shiftier guys. Anyone smell honey??
