Emmanuel Sanders

YES! we would be in a BPA situation or a drastic trade up scenario.

Saunders is freakin fast! everytime I see this guy he is beating someone to the sideline to get around them and head up field. He would be the perfect person to implement more WC offense plays because this guys loves crossing routes and excels at YAC, plus he can go vertical. Another thing he is durable!

I would be very happy to pick him up and draft another WR.

this! I like Edelman but he's a slot guy and I think Sanders gives us that speed we need, Thurmond gives us a good slot CB. If this happens all our immediate needs were filled in FA (SS, slot CB, speed WR, swing OT, backup QB) allowing us to go BPA in a very strong draft class with a ton of picks, couldn't be a better scenario.

Just saw this on Rotoworld regarding Sanders:

ESPN reports free agent Emmanuel Sanders may not receive the long-term contract he wants due to medical concerns regarding his feet.

Sanders has a screw in each of his feet and was limited by a foot injury the last two months of 2014. He is reportedly looking for something close to the five-year, $31 million, $13 million guaranteed deal Golden Tate received from the Lions, but his injury history should put that kind of money out of reach. Sanders may have to settle for a one or two-year deal. He is our No. 5 remaining free-agent wide receiver.

that makes me worry a bit but I still think he's worth it on a 1 or 2 year "prove it" kind of deal

I agree. Hopefully, this "ailment" with his feet doesn't take away his speed as the Niners could obviously use that at WR.
Dude crazy if he thought he was getting that money with those chronic feet issues

not if the quote above is accurate. we don't have the money to be paying that to a backup

His asking price should come down and I see him challenging Patton for the #3 spot.

IMO if we sign Sanders or another vet WR like Edelman (I know JE isn't likely but for arguments sake) and draft a WR (which I 100% believe we will in the first two rounds) then that signals to me that the staff doesn't think Patton is truly ready for a big role next year.

I hope not for that kind of money.
Just kicking the tires on these guys. 9ers aren't going to pay him what he thinks he is worth and he get the same in an offense that better suits his skill set. Might get lucky if Sanders becomes enamored with the area, coaching staff, etc, but highly doubtful. Personally I prefer drafting 2 WR that will be locked up long term cheap, than getting Sanders on a multi year deal.

But But that Shefter tweet
If I had to choose I'd go Thurmond over Sanders or Edelman (whos gone anyways) if they are all cheap enough but I'd rather go to the draft anyways and fill our CB/WR need. I'd like to get younger and get some guys for 4 years instead of more guys at 1-2 years that are 27+. Give me Verrett or Matthews... possibly Beckham or Fuller.
