It's just my opinion, but did anyone think that Josh Morgan was our best WR this season before he went down? I think that we would've had a much easier time in the passing game if he was available to us in the playoffs. The guy was probably the one receiver Alex Smith seemed to have a decent amount of chemistry with, and Alex actually seemed confident to throw to when we needed to move the chains. I really hope he comes back strong next year, and is a key cog in our hopefully improved offense.

For what? Patton has more potential and will probably already be a better WR than Morgan by this next season. Why bother bringing him in and have him as the 4th best option at his position? It would be wiser to draft somebody who can replace Boldin in a few years than to bring in a mediocre guy who has already hit his ceiling.

Morgan brings nothing to the team than what we already have. I honestly think he would only be camp fodder if he is signed. We are going WR with one of first 2 picks Imo so why bring someone In That brings nothing new to the table? Draft two WR and let them compete for playing time instead.

Man do we overrate Patton. I like him and obviously hope he turns out great - but there's no reason for us to assume at this point that will be the case. What's he done so far? Broke his foot, caught 3 balls all regular season, had a nice catch down the sideline in Arizona, and converted a 3rd down early on in January in Charlotte and all of a sudden we act like he's this proven entity who will 100% have an awesome career. Makes no sense. Hopefully he does, but there's nothing there for us to assume anything.
