It's just my opinion, but did anyone think that Josh Morgan was our best WR this season before he went down? I think that we would've had a much easier time in the passing game if he was available to us in the playoffs. The guy was probably the one receiver Alex Smith seemed to have a decent amount of chemistry with, and Alex actually seemed confident to throw to when we needed to move the chains. I really hope he comes back strong next year, and is a key cog in our hopefully improved offense.

The thing is with the injury we can probably get him for cheap. And we only have 2 WR's signed on the roster. So they will probably bring him back. I suspect we will have 5 signed eventually.

What exactly did Williams show? What did he contribute in our 2 playoff games? Sure blocking maybe, but Morgans a better blocker!!! He couldn't get separation, he ran sloppy routes, and aside from 1 play, he couldn't get open!!
And must I really bring up the choke factor??
And it's a proven history now, not only did he choke in college but out did himself in the pros!!! I was just trying to make a play my ass!!!

Morgan should be easy to resign without breaking the bank, still he is not the answer to the receiving corp woes. He is a number 2 at best, so is Crabtree. Signing a free agent WR will not be easy given the team's free agents. I would except the opening WR lineup to be Morgan, Crabtree, and a cheap free agent signing or rookie or Ted Ginn.

I disagree Tree has more talent. Morgan is more athletic, and stronger. Only thing Crab has on him is an inch of height and 2 inches in his wingspan. I don't see how you guys think Tree has more talent than Josh. Just because of where he was drafted and his college numbers?

Crabtree is a sneaky WR who has, dispite recent drops, great hands. Morgan is a smoother gutsier receiver. Totally different guys,both have talent and I want to see both on the team; of course, that presumes not bringing in three better receivers from FAcy or the draft. Why make it either/or?

i hope morgans back. if we get bowe, colston or any of the other big time FAs and a draft pick morgan will be a stud as the 3 receiver. crabs is ok and he will probably be better when we get someone to get some pressure off of him.

He is a threat to score a TD from anywhere on the field be it a screen pass, end around or a fly pattern, or even a slant he ends up turning it up. Dude's got speed and quickness and he can catch. He can also return punts and kicks. Morgan can't offer that much all around ability to the team.

What hasn't he shown for a rookie? He's got the possibility of being a faster version of Wes Welker.

Not quite sure about keeping Kyle Williams and letting Morgan walk.

Williams played in 13 games. Williams had 20 receptions for 241 yards.
Morgan played in 5 games. Morgan had 15 receptions for 220 yards.

I think Morgan looks more like a keeper, and that is without looking at the Giant's game.

It is disappointing that so many have turned on this kid. I understand it but it is "cutting off your nose to spite your face." He was drafted as a prospect at slot as a 3 receiver set guy. He is the quickest of all the receivers last season. Not burner speed but enough to run away from just about any safety and a lot of CBs. He will be Phoenix Rising next season. Book it.

Morgan will be back. Harbaugh made that clear after the injury.

Also, let's not forget that he earned a great deal of loyalty by being an assistant to Alex in Camp Alex last year. The two spent a lot of time going over the playbook and organizing the camps. His role didn't get a lot of press coverage but you can be sure JH and Baalke appreciated it.

When he was last healthy they were not here. Hopefully, Turner will now turn it up for EJ, which will help Smith even more. The plays he was making yesterday were reminiscent of 3 years ago.

just heard we are pondering the idea of having morgan back in SF! i for one think this is a fantastic idea. We all know he fits well in our system and he will come with a reasonable price. He was our leading receiver before he got hurt 2 years ago. He isnt a burner or a monster but he would add good depth to protect us from our injury cursed WR core
