Update: Bulger Retired 49ers expected to make a play for QB Bulger

Better than what we've got now.
He basically had a year off too, so he should be fully healthy. Id sign him for 1 year as a stop gap to whatever QB we draft

i would want him as a back up so we can lose carr, i dont want to start the season with another scrub a$$ dude.

I'd take him for a back up. Not sure if he's even a capable stop gap anymore.
Lombardi "expected" so many other things that never happened.

I'd be fine with Bulger, don't get me wrong, but I think we need to be realistic about what he'd bring to us. It's a sort of Mark Brunell situation -- good veteran presence who could fill in and do all right.

These are all things that were said of Kitna when he left Detroit but he filled in quite nicely in Dal last year. I believe Bulger woudl be a good option for us because he reads the D well and holds the ball minimally, all good traits of a WCO quarterback.
