Dolphins waived WR Patrick Turner.
Turner was a disappointment even at USC, so it was surprising in the first place that a team as well run as the Dolphins wasted a third-round pick on him two Aprils ago. He was beaten out by a pair of undrafted rookies in camp.

Broncos cut OLB/DE Darrell Reid.
Reid was among the team's best special teams players, and was currently sidelined after undergoing surgery on his left knee in February. The team chose to cut Reid instead of placing him on the PUP, saving $1.73 million, as Reid's contract would have been guaranteed had he been placed on the list.

Dotson was pretty much a no brainer, but Thomas comes as a mild surprise. Beat writer Omar Kelly speculates that Thomas' release means OG Cory Procter has made the team.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released WR Michael Clayton, reports Rick Stroud, of the St. Petersburg Times. The Buccaneers tried to trade him during the preseason but were not able to. His $3 million salary this season is guaranteed by the team.

Anyone know what's going on with this guy??? He looked like a one-time Pro Bowl player, and I remember the 9ers wanting to draft him.

work ethic (from what I read) is there

but the skill isnt, good blocker though. Reminds me of JJ Stokes for some reason.

I think DB's and ILB's are what the 49ers brass will be looking at.
