The UFL's Nighthawks want quarterback JaMarcus Russell. So will Russell be able to resist the "we've got steaks . . . all you want" siren song of the Omaha franchise? For now, yes. A source close to Russell tells us that the No. 1 pick in the 2007 draft "will not be in the UFL," and that Russell instead will continue to refine his mechanics in Arizona and discuss opportunities with a couple of interested teams. If this is a mistake -- and based on some of the other stuff that has landed on the UFL's website it could be -- the fledgling league desperately needs to get its sh-t together if it ever is to have any hope of being taken seriously. Meanwhile, we're trying to find out what's going on. It's possible that the players in question are merely on the Nighthawks' "dibs" list. They also have OL Shawn Andrews, he used to be a beast, hes been to 2 pro bowls and was an all pro one year, and hes only 27

You know since he can throw far on his knees we'll make it like he has no legs.

Probably because despite being a converted NT in a 3-4, he'd still find a way to sack himself for a loss, then walk to the sidelines for a quick snack. Plus, the competition JMR would be most motivated in is with Mt. Cody to see who reaches 400 lbs. first.

It's probably a mistake. The article states he's listed between Okeafor and Charles Grant? Newsflash: Grant isn't in the UFL, and never signed with a UFL team. He recently was signed by the Miami Dolphins.

Me too, hes probably better than most of the back ups in the NFL.

He's probably better than most runningbacks on the Faiders roster as we speak. D.Mc is a bust.

I wouldn't mind Fargas in Red and Gold. I know he couldn't be part of our youth movement, but I think he can play.
