This. You'd think with our history of sgning injured OTs that people would start to see it's not the best idea.

There are durability concerns but the most important is that he is due soon an extension and it wouldn't be wise to tie up a lot of money on him and then Oher would be another player that they would have to pay. I think they rather draft another one and save the money and use it elsewhere.

Wow, I was on the fence with giving a 1st rounder but our 2nd round pick for Gaither (plus another late-round pick even) seems like a great deal.
Yes only having to give up a 2nd rounder would be awesome!

Makes sense, them wanting to move him doesn't necessarily mean they don't want him - just means they need to invest elsewhere.
I say do it! Use the 2 1st rounds for play maker and defense.

ESPN has also reported on the Raiders' possible interest in acquiring Gaither. Here is what KC Joyner had to say about Gaither of whom he has listed as one of his top three free agents to bid on:
"Gaither has been a starter for the past two seasons and in that time his metrics have been nothing short of superb. He has allowed only seven total sacks in 27 games and only one of these was a one-on-one sack (defined as when a defender beats a blocker in a one-on-one environment and tackles the quarterback in the pocket within three seconds of the snap). That illustrates Gaither's dominant pass blocking skills, but his run blocking numbers are also quite notable. Gaither was at the Point of Attack (POA) on 300 running plays the past two years and he won his block 255 times, or 85 percent of the time. That is a solid number on its own, but his 2009 POA win rate of 89.0 percent is even more noteworthy. To put that total into perspective, consider that in a typical NFL season, a little less than one out of ten offensive linemen will crack the 90 percent POA win mark. Gaither was on the precipice of that mark last year despite battling injuries."

It makes even more sense to go after Gaither now since Redskins will probably select a OT with their first pick

if 3 or 4 OT's go before we pick i dont want to see us reach, i wouldnt mind a second round lineman, then if u tell me we can get gaither for a 2, its a no brainer, do the deal and improve the secondary and pash rush in the first round

Good Stuff
Gaither could step in and start at RT right away and we could land a top CB and OLB with our first two picks

i think this has to be a draft day trade because the ravens are gonna wanna see if one of their player drops
so with that being said the probability of this trade will happen might be kinda low especially with a couple of teams ahead of with T needs and higher 2nd rounders than us

I'd offer them a 4th rounder this year and a 5th next season for Gaither, that sounds fair to me...
Or else a 4th rounder and Adam Snyder this season.
I really dont want to trade any of our first four picks, especially our two first rounders, lets stand pat and use them to acquire some talent, our 2nd and 3rd round picks could be used on skill players such as a RB, WR or a QB ..who knows
