I will always root for him being one of Kyle's guys, but I think he might be a guy who is better suited as an OC than a head coach. He's still very young, so I could be wrong. But that's just my hunch on him, and guys like Zac Taylor, Stefanski, etc.

Mike McDaniel has a deal in place to trade for Mac Jones in the off season. Kyle wants to replace Mac with Zach Wilson. keeping Zach on the bench doesn't allow him to increase his value or let the rest of the league evaluate him.
or its more likely Mike just knows Zach Wilson sucks.
Zack Wilson, incredible arm talent...almost no football IQ
off the field as well.

Interesting take. I would agree with you. BUT, I also made that mistake. I never thought that Alice Smith would turn into a good QB for the 49ers. Watched that guy SUCK for years. He simply was what he was. A very average QB. And then? Jim Harbaugh. All of a sudden, in the blink of an eye, Alice became Alex. Had he not suffered a concussion in his second season under Harbaugh, who knows how far Smith would have taken the 49ers.
Another example? Jim Plunkett. Former Stanford QB drafted by the Patriots. He stunk up the joint. New England/Boston essentially gave Plunkett to the 49ers after giving up on him. End result? He stunk up the joint. Worst QB to start for the 49ers in the 1970's. Signed by the Raiders after the 49ers cast him off, he sat on the bench for two seasons and healed from his injuries and tortured mind. When he finally got his third chance, the QB who stunk was no longer stinky. He has two rings.
So... You may be right about Goof. You may also be wrong. Goof could be waiting for that "right guy."

The difference is, Smith got no semblance of stable coaching (save for Norv Turner as his OC for one year) until his seventh season. Goff has been in the elague 10 years and has had a VERY high quality OC in Ben Johnson and HC/OC in Sean McVay, He has had access to great coaching every year of his career except year 1. Short of Andy Reid or Kyle Shanahan being his coach, I can't see him getting any better than what he already is.
