Tough task: 49ers can't let Packers WR Davante Adams have another big game

By David Bonilla
Jan 21

Davante Adams, the two-time first-team All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler, is among the best wide receivers in the NFL. He's been one of quarterback Aaron Rodgers' most reliable weapons this season and will be someone the San Francisco 49ers defense has to slow down during Saturday's playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. Adams has been a handful for the 49ers in recent years. The receiver has hauled in 48 receptions for 618 yards and five touchdowns in five meetings with the Niners since 2018, including the 2019 season's nine-reception, 138-yard performance in the NFC Championship Game. Again, they were the home team. "It was a tough environment for us to

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their NFC Championship playoff contest against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Tackle Trent Williams missed his second practice of the week due to an ankle injury. The team will hold one more practice—a Friday afternoon session—before traveling to Southern California. The good news is that running back Elijah Mitchell returned to practice. However, he was limited due to a lingering knee injury that has plagued him since Week 13. Running back Jeff Wilson Jr. ended up missing his second consecutive practice. Head coach Kyle Shanahan had initially stated that he would be limited on Thursday. Cornerback Ambry Thomas was a full participant after
