With Dre Greenlaw now with the Denver Broncos, the San Francisco 49ers are expected to target a linebacker in the 2025 NFL Draft. The team has met with two UCLA prospects—Carson Schwesinger and Kain Medrano.
During the Bruins' Pro Day on Monday, Schwesinger and Medrano revealed they had met with all 32 NFL teams.

Both players participated in the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Schwesinger measured 6'2 1/2" and weighed 242 pounds but did not run the 40-yard dash. However, he posted a 39.5-inch vertical jump and completed 20 reps on the bench press. Medrano measured 6'2 7/8" and weighed 222 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds, recorded a 38-inch vertical jump, and completed a broad jump of 10 feet, 5 inches.
Schwesinger tallied a career-high 136 tackles (nine for a loss), four sacks, three passes defensed, two interceptions, and a forced fumble through 12 games as a senior in 2024, per Sports Reference. His 90.0 pass-rush grade from Pro Football Focus ranked fifth nationally among linebackers, while his 86.9 tackling grade ranked 12th.
