The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 1 contest against the Chicago Bears on Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois.

Tight end George Kittle missed three practices this week as he deals with a groin strain. There was some hope that he might practice on Friday, but that did not happen. The tight end is officially listed as "questionable" for the game, and head coach Kyle Shanahan remains optimistic that he could still play.

"That's why he's questionable," the coach said.

A reporter asked if that meant he could play.

"Questionably," the coach responded with a slight laugh.

On Friday morning, Shanahan stated that he didn't expect to have offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill available.

Linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who has been dealing with an elbow injury, appears good to go.

"That's why I didn't give him a designation," Shanahan said.

Below are the official injury reports for the 49ers and Bears, provided by the 49ers Communications staff. Also included are Friday's practice participation reports.

By David Bonilla
Apr 17

Today, NFL Media draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah spoke to the media during a nearly two-hour conference call, fielding questions about the 2024 NFL Draft. One question surrounded the possibility of the San Francisco 49ers trading up in the first round to increase their chances of landing an impact player. Depending on the 49ers' priorities, Jeremiah only believes a significant move is necessary if the team tries to target a couple of defensive positions. "I mean, they've got a nice haul of picks here, so if they want to move up, they absolutely have the ammunition to do so," Jeremiah stated. "I just think when you look at the needs that they have and some of the different areas that they could go, if you're thinking about corners and edge rushers, maybe you miss
