It's a big week for the San Francisco 49ers, who currently sit atop the NFC West at 4-0. If they can win in Seattle, the 49ers would have a two-game lead with two games left before the bye. And with a win against all three teams in the division, they would have the upper hand, owning the tie-breaker over each team. Of course, it's early, and a lot can change. They still have to play each of those teams again.
We opened the 49ers Webzone Mailbag to hear what's on your mind and answer your questions. You had some good ones, and we appreciate those. Also, fellow staff writer Justin Wong contributed to a couple of these mailbag questions. Big thanks to him. You'll see Justin credited with the questions he answered.
Let's jump in and take a look:
Who do you see stepping up in Kyle Juszczyk's absence Sunday in Seattle? - Shawniieboy
I'd go with Brayden Willis. He's been on and off the practice squad, but blocking is his bread and butter. He already stepped in for Juszczyk with six snaps at fullback against Denver, making him a logical fit for that fullback/H-back role. That lets George Kittle and Luke Farrell stay focused on their usual responsibilities at tight end and helps maintain continuity in the offense. (Justin Wong)
Two players I need to admit I was wrong about:
Connor Colby.
Brayden Willis.Colby has been lights out over 4 games. Keeping Brock clean. Living up to the trust Shanahan has placed in him.
Willis is an excellent blocking TE who is able to handle lead blocker work from the…

How are you liking the idea of the 49ers beating Seattle, Washington & Atlanta before the bye week? Or is this asking too much? - Ed H.
I love the idea of the 49ers winning all three of their pre-bye games. I think it's unlikely, though. The one in Seattle will be their toughest challenge of the season (most likely). If they do win that one, it's possible they have an emotional letdown the following week, even though it's Washington.
A couple of weeks ago, we would have all said the Atlanta game would be a breeze. But they suddenly look explosive on offense.
It's possible the 49ers will win the next three and go into the bye week undefeated, but they'll probably lose one. If they don't, however, we may be looking at a special season.
Raheem Morris is amazing! Especially with the collection of low end/practice squad guys he has to work with. But we need to get sacks. Who out of this group, other than Osa, would be our main sacks guy? - Andy G.
I'd keep an eye on Romello Height. He missed a game with a hand injury that required surgery, then returned wearing a club against Denver and made his presence felt, finishing sixth in pass-rush win rate among edge rushers with at least 20 pass-rush snaps. Keion White finished 13th, so he deserves a mention too. Hopefully Height continues to ascend, and with Mykel Williams potentially returning, the Niners' defensive line should be in better shape against Seattle. Point blank, it's going to take a collective effort until Nick Bosa hopefully returns. (Justin Wong)
Best game to date for Romello Height. He finished with the 6th-highest pass rush win % among all EDGE rushers with at least 20 PR snaps in Week 4. This is why the 49ers drafted him.
FWIW, Keion White was 13th. They were winning. The ball was just coming out hot. pic.twitter.com/Ny2SlSvlCI

When is Nick Bosa supposed to return? - Gerald M.
It won't be this week. There's part of me that wonders if the team will hold him out until after the bye week, but if Nick Bosa is ready to go next week or after, it may be difficult to keep him from playing.
It really just comes down to how his injured calf is coming along. Since he wasn't placed on IR, nothing is holding him back except the injury. So we'll see, but he won't play on Sunday.
Exactly how do you think your going to beat my Seahawks this week? Remember last year? - Terrance L.
I was going to point out that it's you're, not your, but my wife told me that would be rude, so your you're getting off easy.
In order for the 49ers to beat the Seahawks, especially in Seattle, they're going to have to control that outstanding defensive line. If San Francisco can keep the Seattle defensive front from wrecking the day, and if they can win the turnover battle, I believe the 49ers can go in there and get a win. It will help if they can somehow manage to run the ball on the Seahawks, which is going to be difficult.
As for your last question about whether or not I remember what happened in January, yes, I do. And so do the 49ers.
Great win! But I am seriously unimpressed with our young WR's. Both Cowing and Watkins just don't seem to have the grit needed for Kyle's scheme. Is it Brandin Cooks' time while we wait for Christian Kirk to return? - Andy G.
I expect Brandin Cooks to play more. They eased him in against the Broncos, and you could see that he wasn't quite up to speed on Shanahan's scheme. Hopefully, he can make an impact this week. The 49ers will need his speed and veteran experience to beat the Seahawks, especially in a hostile environment.
As for the young receivers, I mostly agree, even though I'm not ready to give up on them. Jacob Cowing can't seem to do much beyond return punts. And Jordan Watkins hasn't been much better. But I was impressed with his block on George Kittle's long touchdown. Check it out if you haven't seen it. (H/t Brad Graham for posting this)
I think this is one of the most important blocks on the 49ers George Kittle screen touchdown
Watkins is the backside player and because he engaged in this block all the way down field, he ate up the DBs angle to tackle George
Love when this type of effort shows up on film —… pic.twitter.com/DGNDZLExTV
