49ers-Bengals Injury Report: Elijah Mitchell, Deebo Samuel miss another practice

Dec 9, 2021 at 4:15 PM--

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 14 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan had hoped that wide receiver Deebo Samuel and defensive end Dee Ford would practice on Thursday. Neither did practice and with just one more session this week, their availability for Sunday remains uncertain. Shanahan did note that the 49ers will know more about Samuel's status for this weekend as early as Friday.

Also missing from practice was the 49ers' leading rusher, Elijah Mitchell. The running back is dealing with what his coach called a "knee irritation" and is in the concussion protocol with teammate Trenton Cannon. Shanahan revealed that he is not optimistic about Mitchell's availability against the Bengals.

Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Bengals, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.

By Rohan Chakravarthi
May 6

Late Wednesday night, San Francisco 49ers fans sighed in relief as wide receiver Deebo Samuel reportedly followed the team on Instagram once again, which could be a sign that the relationship is getting back on track. Samuel, who scrubbed his account of everything 49ers related on April 7th, which was around the time of his reported trade request, was not moved during the draft as the 49ers stayed firm with their decision despite fielding multiple offers for the star receiver. Now, almost a month later, Samuel has re-followed the team, once again utilizing his power of social media to express his

When Frank Gore speaks, San Francisco 49ers fans listen. The man is an icon in the hearts of The Faithful. The former NFL running back, who remains the 49ers' all-time leading rusher, has a lot of love for his first NFL team too, always keeping up with new developments and often sharing his opinion on the team he admires most. Gore voiced his opinion on Friday, responding to a tweet asking fans to name the best wide receiver in the NFL. Gore's answer? Deebo Samuel. Not only did he call Samuel the best wide receiver, but he took it further, calling him the "best player all-around" in the NFL (h/t The Spun). That is some high praise from the future Hall

Albert Breer weighs in on Trey Lance doubts, Deebo Samuel situation with 49ers

There have been two major San Francisco 49ers storylines this offseason. The first was the quarterback situation and the transition from Jimmy Garoppolo to Trey Lance. Then, that was overshadowed by the Deebo Samuel drama that culminated in the wide receiver requesting a trade—and then being denied. On Monday, Albert Breer of MMQB joined The Rich Eisen Show and shared what he had heard about both storylines, starting with Samuel and the 49ers' strong desire to mend the broken relationship. "The messaging coming out of there is how badly [the 49ers] want him back and how important he is to their team," Breer told Eisen. Samuel was an essential factor in the team's success last season, amassing 1,770 all-purpose yards and 14 total touchdowns for

Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens has some insight on the situation between the San Francisco 49ers and their current wide receiver star, Deebo Samuel. Owens recently told NBC LX that he spoke with Samuel but wasn't willing to disclose the details of that conversation. Owens did share the following, though, courtesy of NBC Sports Bay Area. "I've talked to him personally. I know what's going on," Owens said before his Fan Controlled Football game over the weekend. "I know what transpired. Until he's ready to say what happened with that situation, I just keep that between us. But it's
