The Minnesota Vikings were without Stefon Diggs for their second consecutive practice of the week as the wide receiver deals with an illness.

Update: Diggs returned to practice on Thursday.

Then there was the news that Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen injured his ankle during Wednesday's practice. No further details were given, until now.

Thielen suffered a "bad cut" on his ankle, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The cut required stitches, but the initial prognosis left Thielen and the Vikings encouraged about the receiver's chances of playing on Saturday against the San Francisco 49ers. Although, the team is proceeding with caution.

"You know how it is, I just got a little tangled up in practice," Thielen said Thursday morning on Good Morning Football. "I'm going to do whatever it takes. Its playoffs, so I'm going to do whatever it takes to be out there on Saturday with my teammates, and trying to help this team win."

Update: Thielen did not practice on Thursday.

This is definitely a story worth keeping an eye on heading into the Divisional Round playoff matchup at Levi's Stadium.

Thielen had seven catches for 129 yards in the Vikings' 26-20 Wild Card win over the New Orleans Saints.

Note: Article updated to note that Diggs returned to practice on Thursday but Thielen did not.
