49ers sign WR Rashad Ross to reserve/future contract

The San Francisco 49ers have signed WR Rashad Ross to a reserve/future contract, per Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.


Ross signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State in 2013. He has spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears, and most recently the Detroit Lions.

Ross has nine career receptions for 192 yards and a touchdown. He also has 812 return yards and a touchdown on special teams.

The San Francisco 49ers announced several roster moves today as the team arrived in Santa Clara for training camp. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network had reported earlier that 15 NFL players have been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list as teams prepare to kick off training camps around the league. San Francisco 49ers cornerback Emmanuel Moseley is being joined by two of his teammates on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The Niners announced today that they are placing safety Jaquiski Tartt and wide receiver Jauan Jennings on the list, which means neither will be present for the first training camp practice. 49ers players underwent their first COVID-19 tests yesterday morning, upon reporting to the team's facilities. According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, Tartt was already dealing with a toe injury and was a candidate to land on the active/physical-unable-to-perform (PUP) list. Jason Verrett compares Brandon Aiyuk to future Hall of Famer, feels 49ers offense can be 'dominant'

Comparisons are fun. Entering last year's draft, NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein compared wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk to Robert Woods of the Los Angeles Rams. Aiyuk ended up becoming a first-round selection of the San Francisco 49ers and had an impressive rookie campaign. Cornerback Jason Verrett offered up another comparison while speaking to the media on Thursday, saying Aiyuk displays traits that remind him of a future Hall of Famer.
