Tomsula on future: ‘My long-term goal is Sunday’

Nov 25, 2015 at 10:56 AM--

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula spoke to the media today. He confirmed that yesterday's surgeries for QB Colin Kaepernick (left shoulder) and DL Glenn Dorsey (ACL) were successful and that both players are in the recovery phase. Kaepernick's surgery was in Vail, Colorado and Dorsey's was at Stanford in California.

LB Ahmad Brooks came into the week complaining about a headache. As a precaution, he was put into the concussion protocol after playing a full game on Sunday in Seattle. RB Carlos Hyde will not practice with the team today and Tomsula said that he is still "day-to-day."

When asked about his job security, Tomsula said, "My long-term goal is Sunday. That's where I stay." Tomsula said that he has not had a conversation with management about his future with the 49ers. "Just to your point right there, we're in a performance-based business and all of us in it get it," added Tomsula.

One reporter asked Tomsula about his favorite Thanksgiving food. "It's all good. I mean, look at me. My wife's a good cook," he replied.
