49ers are eight-point underdogs against Packers

Oct 1, 2015 at 10:08 AM--

The San Francisco 49ers started Thursday as eight-point underdogs for their game against the Green Bay Packers at Levi's Stadium on Sunday.

When was the last time that the 49ers were eight-point underdogs at home? According to Pro Football Reference, it was in 2007 when the 49ers were really bad and faced the Cincinnati Bengals. They were 8.5 point underdogs then. The good news? The 49ers won that December matchup by a score of 20-13.

The 49ers started the season well with a 20-3 home opening victory against the Minnesota Vikings. Over the course of the following two weeks, the 49ers have been outscored 90-25 in road games against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals.

QB Colin Kaepernick has thrown 4 interceptions and been sacked 7 times behind a shaky offensive line during those losses. His 16.7 passer rating against the Cardinals was the lowest of his NFL career.

The 49ers kick off against the Packers on Sunday at 1:25 PM PT. You can find deals on tickets here.
