Vince Young

While watching the HOF game tonight, Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth were talking about it likely being Vince Young's last season in Tennessee if he were to continue being bad. I'm just wondering what everyone thought about him being a possible addition to the niners. I feel the factors would be: 1. Hill/Smith do not work out this year (obviously) 2. Front office does not want to use our 1st round picks on a QB 3. A fresh start helps players rebirth their careers. Examples: Kerry Collins, Kurt Warner I know that he has been terrible lately (although I feel inclined to remind everyone he lead his team to the playoffs and got rookie of the year), and I am just asking hypothetically, but what if? Could our coaches resurrect the freight train that has been Vince Young? Or would we just say HELL NO cuz of our Alex Smith fiasco (which still has it's verdict out). Ironically, I've thought for the last year or so that a Vince Young for Alex Smith trade would benefit both players. Give both of them a fresh start.

However we got him, I'd love to see VY as a 49er! He needs some work, but I think he could end up being a very good QB.

I have more faith in Smith being a better QB than Young... and I really dont have much faith in Smith at the moment.

Young looks bad. Very bad with no promise.

He had no circumstantial causes to hinder him.

Smith is a completely different story. I think Smith has a far better shot, and I would certainly not trade him for Young.

Vince should be beastly by now

but something is going on in that head of his.

Maybe that early money , no more Texas U stardom, no more passion for the game,

Who knows.

Something is going on and it sucks.

Any else hear that Idiot Collingworth say something like No QB has ever hit that nitch of Running and passing QB in the NFL?

hello Dumb ass.... Steve Young , Randell Cunningham....

What EXACTLY the f**k are looking for....

Cunningham was nearly a 3500 yard passer and 1000 yard rusher....

Steve Young was a 4000 yard passer 500 yard rusher.....

What else do you want? a 1000 yard rusher 5000 yard passer?

I actually like vy a lot. he was crappy tonight but he had a really nice pass in the back of the end zone for a td so the talent is there. he has a good arm and hes mobile, its just in his head and he could probably benefit from a number one wr. i like alex smith a lot better still though.

smith will be the better qb. he has the drive to succeed and has his head on straight.

He was great in college because he was so fast. But he just dosent have the talent to be a Starting NFL QB. He shouldn't have ever been on the madden cover that was a joke.

Lay off Cris, what he meant, and what he was saying before was no run first QB, has found his nitch, though he also said Vick kinda did ie getting to the NFC basically by himself, well him and Warrick Dunn. Cris is a smart guy he knows the game, and I love em for a number of reasons, one of the main ones being that he is our whipping boy, haha, sorry Cris.

Agreed 100%. Smith certainly has to prove himself, there's no doubt about that, but my god Vince Young is terrible.
