Actually this was in the context of "after minicamps and OTA's," which Singletary specifically said.

What I think is more likely is Smith lives in the area, so why wouldn't he be available for Crabtree to get some work in?

I think its great to see Alex working hard and feeling good. I hope he earns the starting QB job back again.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Alex has always been documented as one of the teams hardest workers. I believe Gore said this in an interview with nfl.com after the '06 season.

I don't know why we all can't just agree that both QBs could be successful?!! When healthy, Alex does have all of the physical ability necessary to be a good QB. Its just his mental confidence that is his biggest issue. In regards to Shaun Hill, what he may lack in physical ability, he makes up for in toughness and leadership. They both have some things to prove, but in the end, I think either QB can make this team better. They both bring different aspects to the team! Why can't we just agree to disagree? Lets allow it to be settled on the football field. While I admit that I am rooting for Alex Smith, I have no problem at all with Shaun Hill. May the best man win!!!

That is exactly how I feel. But it seems that some just hate Smith so much that they refuse to admit that he has any upside and think that Hill is the next greatest thing since sliced bread
