Meh. Sacramento stole the Kings from Kansas City in '86, and probably didn't deserve an NBA team in the first place.

The city of Seattle kept the rights to the Sonics and everything, so yes they would be called that.


And I don't see anything wrong with Seattle taking the Kings from Sacramento.


Then the Warriors could have all of Northern California to themselves

Oh man, I just read up on the sonics name deal. What a mess. The owner gave up the name and colors and all that, but he kept the history attached to OKC. But if a new team expands in Seattle, they can have the history as well, but OKC wouldn't necessarily give up the history, too. If a team moves to seattle, they would associate with the history of the moving team, therefore they would not acquire the sonics/okc history.
