I'd feel much better paying DeAndre (or Tyson) and amnestying Biendrins, than trading Monta and Udoh and keeping Biendrins for Bogut.

And if the team wanted to go with Klay over Monta we'd be in position to go after the Nets pick that they sent away for Gerald Wallace which is a top-5 pick.

DJ-Lee-Klay-Curry-Udoh-whatever the expirings get me-lottery pick from a Monta trade is better to me than

Bogut-Lee-Wright-Klay-Curry-Biendrins-hoping and praying we tank well enough to keep our pick

pretty sure the Warriors would also. Thats why they offered a similar contract but 4 yr instead of 5. they offered 4 years 42 mill, got matched by Clippers.
Not to get too off topic, but I heard Lacob on Gary Radnich's show earlier this morning and said that it's possible that the Warriors would keep their first round draft pick WITHOUT TANKING. He goes on to say that they are negotiating with Utah in order for the Warriors to keep that pick.

What I'm suggesting is that the team should have upped the offer to DeAndre and made it tougher on the Clips to match. The Clips were more than glad to match our offer. It would of been overpaying, but that was the name of game by virtue of being the Golden State Warriors. Amnestying Biendrins would have offset the cost on our salary cap, but Lacob couldn't or wouldn't pay that.

It's stuff like that, that got him booed. Reeks of over-promising and under-delivering. Jed York overcame it so hopefully Lacob will do the same, but...

You're making the assumptions free agents want to come to GSW. This is why we have overpaid for all of our players. We are not LA, NYC, BOS, CHI or Miami. We need to overpay.

See above. DeAndre signed our offer sheet, it just wasn't enough for the Clips to think twice about matching.

Sad, but all true
For those who think the fans were wrong/classless/disrespectful for booing, I hope you are listening to Ric Bucher on KNBR1050 right now. Couldnt agree with him more.

does lacob deserve to be boo'd? Maybe. But not on Chris Mullin's night. It was going great and that just made it awkward and the day after people were talking about Lacob getting boo'd instead of talking about how Mullin got his jersey retired.
You can also make the argument that Lacob shouldnt have even went up to speak
