Question: Could the Lakers use that trade exemption to add depth or how does that work?

Regardless this team still needs to add depth because there is nobody that is a consistent scorer to come off the bench

LMAO at the Lakers getting old ass Steve Nash, OKC are still going to own them.

Btw, pairing that old man with 2 elite bigs and an elite sg is just plain awful for the rest of the WC.
Anybody who doubts otherwise is delusional.

Offensively, this team improves leaps and bounds just on efficiency alone. With either Bynum or Howard covering the paint and Kobe and World-Peace on the wings, Nash's defensive short comings can be covered up.

This is just awful.

What you are seemingly overlooking is the fact that when Kobe and Pau come off the books, there's nearly $40 Million in cap space that opens up. Money that will be spent on more superstars that are looking to join the NBA's staple franchise and have their run at the Lakers fame and glory.



Remember, they've only missed the playoffs 5 times in the history of the franchise. The fall isn't as far as you think. They always reload. They always are in the mix.

The Lakers will just sign or trade for 2 or more superstars whenever they wat to
and they still have a 24 year old Bynum, who in my opinion is the best center in the league, to build around if they choose to.

The Lakers gave up very little for an elite PG, yes he's 38 but he's still top 5 or 6 in the league today.
2 first rounders and 2 2nds are almost nothing when they're in the mid 20 at least

Late draft picks usually dont even make the roster, the draft only has about 10 players who even make an impact.

My buddy sent me this list of all the point guards (and even some quasi-guards, ie Sasha) that Kobe Bryant has ever played with.

If all those names somehow formed into a super human, I'm convinced a 38 year old Nash would still be better than whatever that super human would be. Can't wait to see all those Nash jerseys!

Good pickup, makes you guys instantly better. Idk if it's good enough to get you over OKC or the Heat though.. You still have major depth issues and scoring off the bench. Also SF is a question mark. Grant Hill?

I think this is a fair evaluation of where the Lakers are. It looks like Hill will be coming to LA, unless he decides to retire.

My ideal moves going forward would be...

1) Andrew Bynum & Metta World Peace for Dwight Howard & Jason Richardson

2) Sign Grant Hill

2) Re-sign Jordan Hill.

3) Re-sign Devin Ebanks.

Nash is the kinda guy that makes dudes like Devin Ebanks & Josh McRoberts look better than they really are, because they can finish around the basket.

SG: Kobe Bryant, Jason Richardson, Devin Ebanks, Andrew Goudelock
SF: Grant Hill, Devin Ebanks, Christian Eyenga
PF: Pau Gasol, Jordan Hill, Josh McRoberts
C: Dwight Howard, Jordan Hill

I would trade pau for josh smith, and Bynum for Howard.
