He will still easily break the all-time record of goals scored in Serie A in one season - which is mid 30s. (and so will Ronaldo) Gerd Muller played in Bundesliga when he set the record of 67 goals in a season in all competition - not in Serie A or English Premiere League.
La Liga in 2012 is the strongest league, and Messi and Ronaldo score pretty much every time they play in La Liga and outside La Liga as well. They'd dominate any league, regardless of how good the defenses are.
lol. what does Gerd Muller and the Bundesliga have to do in any of this? Yah cause Messi has totally scored boatloads of goals against the Serie A teams he has faced in the CL. As for La Liga being the strongest league today...LOL. It's a two horse race between Barca and Real. So the Europa League is an all spanish final...so what? EPL and Serie A teams dont give a s**t about the Europa League. Only midtable spanish and Portuguese teams do. Which is why Platini is considering getting rid of the Europa League. Messi and Ronaldo are good, but get off their dick. Go look at all the space they are given by La Liga defenses. Good for them that they have the talent to absolutely exploit that along with having the superior talent around them to do so.
I mentioned Gerd Muller because his record was broken. Maybe you should look up to see how the discussion was started. Scoring 70 goals in a season is pretty amazing, regardless of any league - so no need to diminish that. Anyway, I'm not saying Messi will score 50 goals in Serie A, but he will break the scoring records, and so will Ronaldo. Only Juve and Milan have a defense that's worth talkin about, all other teams are average at best. Alexis Sanchez scored 12 goals in Serie A in 30 games last season, and in La Liga he scored 12 goals in 25 games, most of them served to him on a plate by Messi and Iniesta. Having superior talent cuts both ways - just ask Ibra. He scored about the same number of goals he scored in La Liga as he averaged for Inter and Juve.
A player like Toto scored about 30 goals in 2010 and 2011 in Serie A. LOL
It's no excuse if Serie A teams don't care about playing in Europa league, they fared poorly in those leagues. They didn't do so hot in Champions League as well, ManCity and ManU couldn't even get out of group stages - or do they not care about Champions League as well?
Yes, La Liga is a two team race, and if Barca and Real Madrid were in Serie A, it'd still be a two league race. Most soccer analyst say that openly now. Serie A teams have trouble scoring and defend with 10 guys. This doesn't work anymore (unless you have Chelsea's luck), which is why they get exposed when they face teams from other leagues. Inter was the only team that managed to do this, and even they had plenty of firepower up front.
