Vince Carter did not take 55 tries to make a dunk and dude didnt need to roll out Kia's and The Far East Movements midget member to impress. He just did it with ease like the old school dunkers used to do.there is too much theatrics now.

The old school dunkers didn't do nearly what Carter did.

But they were in the past, so the had to be good.

Pretty sure I was right on page 11.
The dunk contest is whack now.

Some guy jumps 3 feet over a car and gets a 50 because he has a choir and a car on the court
Some guy jumps behind the damn free throw line and gets a 44.

Was jumping over a car really more impressive?

Its all about presentation now, its stupid

If Blake had worn a cape, he would have gotten a 60.

Maybe, if it took him 9 attempts or more to do so.

9+ attempts, and he would have scored a million.

It really has nothing to do with things being better "back then."

Vince Carter was better than those who came before him. (They were, after all, mor "back then" than him.) He was better than those was came after him.

His dunks were smooth, graceful, powerful, and creative. His 360 -- which goes in the opposite direction that a 360 normally does -- is the most beautiful dunk ever performed in the contest, IMO.

It was just nuts. He'd stand there for a bit, thinking, then just bust out the dunk flawlessly. I think he only messed up on the one T-Mac helped out on, and that one took all of 2 tries.
You know, I wouldn't have as big a problem with multiple attempts if it were mandatory that two points be taken off the final score for every failed attempt.

Impressive, but he didnt deserve a higher score. Not only has it been done before, but everyone before him dunked with more power and style than him.
