Congrats, fellas. You guys played a full 48 and deserved to win.

Does anybody know what the deal is with Artest?

Ya, him too. This team's been so mentally checked out this season. I know that's not unusual for a 3-peat team (or even moreso, a team trying to make it's 4th straight Finals), but this is ridiculous. I feel like Kobe & Fish are the only two guys that mentally show up every night.

Woulda been nice to have Barnes to go to instead of Luke today.

Fish might mentally show up, but physically he sucks..hard.

That's been his thing for a few years, now. If he hadn't done so much heroic s**t in the playoffs the last few years he'd be getting it harder from us.

Agreed, he's the worst starting PG in the league and he's been that way for a while, he's pretty much there for sentimental value at this point.
Kobe needs to rely on the inside game and stop trying to take over the game.
play inside out and let the game come to him. he's gonna get his touches/shots.

in other words, team ball

We scored 96 points against the Celtics. That's gotta be enough to win. Our problem was giving up 60.3% from the field.

I think BOS just had a good shooting game. Excluding Ray Allen's near impossible threes and Pierce being Pierce, a lot of their shots were tough shots that were not from their normal spots. They just happened to go in. BOS doesn't make those like they did yesterday.

We are shoot 50.1 for the season.... Number one in the league.. We move the ball better than anyone in the league and we also lead the league in assists (24.64) a game.....

And why is that? Is it because BOS usually controls the key? They have a tough time controlling the key against the Lakers, especially when Bynum is in the game.
IMO, it was the result of Artest doing a very poor job on Pierce, and then Jackson deciding that it'd be a good idea to put Walton on him. 2008 all over again. Pierce had something like 12-14 points in the first 6 minutes of the 3rd, which is when we lost control of the game.

Everyone but Fisher did a terrible job chasing Allen around screens too, and our bigs were getting beaten down the court in transition.

Boston made shots, but it's because they had good looks. That's what great teams do. Contrast this to Game 7, when the same guys were getting smothered.

BOS shot 60% and 53% for 3's. It's not like they dominated the paint. When a team shoots that well, it's a combination of hitting shots that don't normally go in and bad defense. Taking Artest off of Pierce was huge but Pierce was already having an above average game, even when Kobe guarded him.

Boston played better and they won. Thats it. not because of miracle shot falling from the heavens and all that. They made their shots which they have done very well all year not in the fluky way you are projecting
Shannon Brown was trying some perplexing things yesterday. At least I was perplexed.

Is it bad that I KNEW the Lakers were going to lose yesterday before tip off?

I'm not trying to portray they made repeated fluky shots. But they did make some difficult ones at times. Combine that with the 3rd quarter "Alex Smith" on Allen and Artest not on Pierce and you have an easy offensive game.

LA took BOS shot in the first half and still had the lead. This game was more about hitting a higher than normal percentage and terrible personnel decisions by Phil.

Who cares about this topic now.

I was more disappointed in Shaq not being a factor and being too old to do anything about Kobe showing him up.
