Rasheed Wallace officially decided to retire after 15 NBA seasons, a league source said.
Wallace signed a three-year, $18.9 million contract with Boston last summer, turning down offers from Orlando and San Antonio after the Celtics made a team-wide push to recruit him, sending Coach Doc Rivers, GM Danny Ainge and forwards Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to Wallace's home to ask him to play in Boston. He left more than $12 million on the table by opting to retire.
What surprises me more than anything is that Rasheed left $12 Mil on the table.

Bulls To Send Hinrich, No. 17 To Wizards
Jun 24, 2010 3:39 PM EST
The Bulls have a trade in place that would send guard Kirk Hinrich and the No. 17 pick to the Wizards, sources told ESPN.com's Ric Bucher.
The move could free up enough cap space for Chicago to sign two max-level free agents this summer.
The deal can't be consummated until July 8, when Washington will have enough room under the cap to absorb Hinrich's contract without having to send anything back in return.

Lakers assistant coach Brian Shaw to interview for the Cavs HC job. Phil needs to hurry up and let the team know his plan for next year. I'd rather keep Shaw to replace Jackson if he's retiring.

As a Wizards fan i'm still lost for words on this deal. They better have a trade for Arenas for Rudy Gay or something on deck b/c this makes no sense. On top of that why are they helping the Bulls get better

They're not in the same division so it doesn't really matter if they help the Bulls. Hinrich will give you guys some stability on the bench at guard something you didn't have before plus he's a great replacement incase Wall starts off slow.

Anyone have an idea of the Warriors' salary cap position? Are we even players for Chris Bosh's services?
