Hayward's stats
SEASON TEAM MIN PTS REB AST TO A/T STL BLK PF FG% FT% 3P% PPS
2008-2009 BUT 32.7 13.1 6.5 2.0 1.7 1.19 1.5 .9 2.0 .479 .815 .448 1.61
2009-2010 BUT 33.5 15.5 8.2 1.7 2.3 .73 1. 1 .8 2.1 .464 .829 .294 1.53
The thing that really got my attention is his 3 point percentage his freshmen year when he shot 44%, so maybe the kid can shoot afterall. A big reason why it was so s**tty last year was probably b/c he was the focal point of defenses last year and had to force more shots. Since he won't be one of our top options maybe he'll be more consistent with his outside shot. If not I'm not gonna be happy while Cole Aldrich is blocking our shots 4 times a year.

We actually have 8 black players on the team.
They aren't white either!
true... either way... wtf we needed a big to get past the lakers not an ak clone that cant play d
i dunno i mean i guess it means booz will prolly get resigned but I dunno okur isnt going to be himself next season and ak well you and every other jazz fan know he'll get an infected splinter at some point next season, so unless gasol, bynum, and odom all get the plague looks like another season of being good enough for 4th or 5th best.
Its just so aggrivating to watch sometimes. Oklahoma City seems to know their s**t and are having a great day so far meanwhile Kevin O Connor continues to waste 1st round picks on mediocre players. I know the Jazz love being faithful to their employees but KOC needs to be fired this s**t is getting ridiculous.
Hopefully this means we're resigning Boozer then looking to ship AK out.
BTW Anyone else checking out the Jazz boards. What a bunch of idiots. D Will is leaving because of this. Fire everyone. If D Will leaves it's because we got rid of quality players for absolutely nothing (Boozer, Brewer, Maynor). It's not because we didn't take a below average big man in this draft.
I can't stand Jazz boards. It's the whiniest, doomsday board you'll ever see.
Yeah the Jazz boards are horrible they're a bunch of b***hes. I don't know how many times I read "we've had this pick for 6 years and we use it on this guy!??!!" I agree it shoulda been used elsewhere but they seemed like it was the end of the world. I think Deron will leave if we don't do something fast either a sign and trade with Boozer or by trading AK's contract. Its so aggrivating to see this team slowly fall apart b/c our GM makes some of the dumbest trades or drafts horribly in the 1st round. He's usually ok in the 2nd round but my lord O'Connor can't draft 1st rounders for the life of him outside of a couple of players.
You remember how upset D Will was when we let Brewer go? Make no mistake about it D Will wants us to resign Boozer. It's funny that everyone wants this team to fall apart but because the dominoes aren't falling the way they want it to they're flipping out. Letting Boozer walk and replacing him with Monroe, Davis or whoever they wanted was a horrible idea from the get go, and would eventually lead to D Will leaving.
Deron has been hesitate about resigning Boozer ever since we got crushed by LA. He knows we don't have a chance at winning it with Boozer so the logical thing was to get a younger guy in that can play some defense down low. Unfortuantely with the Hayward pick it looks like we're gonna attempt to resign Boozer and be stuck in mediocrity next year and then have Deron opt out. Too many teams are improving out West for the Jazz to just sit back with what they have yet KOC doesn't see it that way.
I've heard the opposite. I heard that he's trying to convince him to stay.
We have no chance to win a title without Boozer. He's the best free agent that we could ever bring to Utah. Don't kid yourself. By the time that rookie was ready to play at Boozer's level Deron would be gone.
I can't speak for Jazz management but hopefully they're thinking what I'm thinking. AK's expiring deal is the best way for us to get a center.

It is but my biggest problem with KOC is he tends to overvalue AK a lot and has turned down a ton of trades for him because he thinks AK is some sort of superstar. Hell I'd be happy if we got rid of Ak's contract for a couple cheap backups, signed Brendan Haywood and resigned Boozer. Wouldn't make us title contenders but at least we could stand up a lil better against LA and OKC.
PG: Williams, Gaines?, Price?
SG: Matthews, Jeffers?
SF: Miles, Hayward
PF: Boozer, Millsap
C: Haywood, Okur, Koufos

I like this scenario, but really doubt anything close will happen. I would love for us to get Haywood and a good combo guard to help out.

Jazz GM Kevin O’Connor said talking with Carlos Boozer would be “absolutely” the top priority when free agency opens. Although the Jazz matched a four-year, $32 million offer sheet to keep Paul Millsap last summer, O’Connor said the team remains interested in re-signing Boozer.
“They’ve played awful well together,” O’Connor said, adding that he appreciates all the matchup problems created by the Lakers’ towering frontcourt of Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom.
Utah will have competition from teams with maximum cap space.
Quote:
Kevin O’Connor noted that the Jazz could acquire a player making up to $6.5 million through the trade exception they obtained from sending Matt Harpring to Oklahoma City. The Jazz also are owed a future first-round draft pick from Memphis as part of the Ronnie Brewer deal.
“We’ll have to involve ourselves in trying to do a lot of things,” O’Connor said. “But you’ve got to be creative a little bit with things. That’s why we have some assets.”
The Jazz also are open to a sign-and-trade with Carlos Boozer, which could create a future TPE and not impact their salary cap depending on what comes back in return.
Better do something KOC!!!! Bringing in Mike Miller would be awesome!

A reason I wanted Babbitt over Hayward is because he reminded me of Miller for some reason. I just hope the FO makes the right moves and doesn't panic to make moves just because

draft insider Chad Ford said the Jazz were working like crazy to trade up to the 3rd pick for Cousins. unfortunately they just couldnt find a way to make it happen.
so at least we know they were in the right frame of mind. Cousins wouldve been probably our most coveted player in the draft because of need. its a shame we couldnt find a way to make that happen.

Serioulsy that would have been awesome if we could have got him or Monroe. I hope we make a couple big moves in free agency now.

wouldve been nice to get him. instead hes coming to live in my neck of the woods in Sac. Kings fans are crazy biased, so im not looking forward to hearing all about how awesome Evans and Cousins are together. the past few years theyve sucked and all the fairweather fans out here have gone into hibernation. hopefully cousins gets distracted and busts.

this logo is ugly as SIN. what were they thinking? it hurts my eyes to look at. who borders white with yellow? the colors dont even go well together. if this is our actual logo, we instantly have the worst logo in the NBA. you cant market that! it looks like a mess. its even worse than the Frenso Grizzlies unis from a few years ago when their colors were brown, orange, teal, and yellow.
i couldnt hold it in anymore. i hope they dont actually put that thing at center court.

They've already said its gonna be in the center of the court unfortunately. Supposively the court is gonna be like the TWolves court where its light within the 3 point line and dark on the outside, which I hate so much. They shoulda just used the music note logo for the center or something.

SALT LAKE CITY (June 28, 2010) – Utah Jazz general manager Kevin O’Connor announced today that the team has tendered qualifying offers to center Kyrylo Fesenko and guard Wesley Matthews. Per team policy, financial terms were not released.
In accordance with the league’s collective bargaining agreement, in order for a team to retain its right of first refusal with respect to a restricted free agent, the team must tender the player a qualifying offer by June 30. A restricted free agent may sign an offer sheet with any team, but is subject to a right of first refusal with the team for which the player last played.
KOC's love for Fesenko really needs to stop. I don't want him back next year.

Summer League Roster so far
Rod Benson - C: 6'10 210 Reno Bighorns D-League
Tadija Dragicevic - PF: 6'9 265 Serbia (Former second round draft pick)
Jeremy Evans - PF: 6'9 210 Western Kentucky (Second round draft pick)
Gordon Hayward - SF: 6'8 210 Baylor (#9 pick in the first round)
Demetris Nichols - SF: 6'8 215 Syracuse (Former second round draft pick of the Blazers)
Tyrese Rice - PG: 6'0 190 Boston College
Dominic Waters - PG: 6'1 180 Portland State
Koufos said he'd be there and Gaines and Jeffers have to be there or their option won't be picked up.
I'm really surprised Dragicevic is coming over from Europe to play. I figured he would stay overseas like Tomic but maybe he wants to give it a shot.

From Chad Ford's twitter:
Personally I hate to have David Lee his defense is worse then Boozer's and isn't much of the shot blocking center we need.
Quote:
My predictions (subject to change): Bron & Johnson in Chi; Wade & Bosh in Mia; Amare & Gay in NJ; Dirk in Dallas; Boozer in NY; Lee in Utah
