LMAO, FP's first guest on his debut show on KNBR is the A's Chavez.
Not gonna make SF/KNBR/fans/management happy with such disrespect.

ML posted some poll done by some Oregon polling company that was posted in the Merc, so it doesn't look as it has a bias towards for or against the A's as I've pointed out some polls done by SF a few months back.
But the poll was a straight up simple question.
Do you want the A's to move to SJ? 53% to 35% approve of such a move, about a 7-9 point jump in favor of the move according to his last poll done.
That same poll also asked about the Niners moving to SC, well it's basically split in that poll.

I just hope something gets announced soon, hopefully before the season.
The future of the A's home has been an issue for this org since 95, right about when Haas sold the team to Schott/Hoffman and then the whole Raiders situation completely ruined the stadium.
Basically we fans have been in limbo for about a decade and a half not knowing where this org's fate is long term.
I don't think it's in Oakland. I don't know what MLB is waiting for since it's been a couple of weeks now when the commish got his blue ribbon panel, a same blue ribbon panel that screwed the Picicinni group back about a dozen years ago, decision where they feel is the best spot for the A's to build a new park.
What is he waiting for.
Speculation and maybe it's the very pro SJ those who are speculating it is that it's been made at least privately to both the A's and SFG the decision could be SJ and if that's the case, maybe they're working on some sort of compensation. IMO there should be NO COMPENSATION given, rumors are it could be up to 100+ million and maybe more from the A's to get the rights back, something they gave free of charge to SFG back nearly two decades ago. b*****dS! And when this finalization is done between the two sides, the move will be announced soon afterwards.
Also with the news that the city of Oakland is planing to buy some land around the coliseum, speculation is that they're ready to possibly build a football venue for BOTH bay area teams if the whole Niners to SC idea gets defeated.

Taylor with a couple of hits, including an RBI single today. Both Anderson and Braden pitched well as the starters.
Kouz has a bruised shin but it's nothing serious, said he'll be back tomorrow.

Spander with a piece here locally basically exposing the A's ownership for doing all they could to drive away fans since they gained full control of this team in 05.
Finally those in the media are speaking up and it's not all the fault of the A's fans or the city of Oakland to why the A's either can't draw fans to the coliseum and or why the org will move out of the city.

Well thank goodness, Buan isn't the host of the A's post game show anymore.
Townsend whos used to have his show on 860 from 10 PM-1 AM but was bumped by JT's show in that time slot with his show airing on tape from 1 AM-3 AM is taking over the posts game show duties.
9.5 years with Buan, it's been so damn long after he took over for another former KNBR employee Herrera back in mid 2000. Townsend is gonna be almost a complete 180 from Buan as he'll criticize which Buan rarely ever did.

Also saw the first A's newspaper ad today with the A's slogan for this season being...
"A's baseball-Green Collar"
...okay...

They need to hire a new marketing department.
Every year we come out with crappier and crappier slogans.
What the hell would green collar even be implying/proving?

The whole bay area sports marketing stinks.
Well at least every team puts up some lame ass slogan.
A's...
-green collar
-100% A's baseball
SFG...
-gamer
-lets play
-it's magic inside/from where i sit blah blah blah...
Niners...
-put your game face on
Raiders...
-commitment to excellence...
W's...
-it's a great timeout
Really don't know what the Sharks have put out in recent years, but hey their product on the ice, they don't need some crappy slogan.

I actually don't mind the niners and warriors ones so much.
I guess it must be harder than you think to come up with a good slogan.

Well in regards to the W's, it'd be fine if this wasn't the 10th or 11th straight year they've used the SAME slogan for the season. And really when you've only had 2 .500+ and one playoff season during this span of this "it's a great time out", sounds pretty silly to keep using it when the team has stunk to high heaven for 80% of the season's you've used it. Maybe try to use something else.
Niners? Maybe it's because it was so similar to the SFG "gamer" slogan that was used the same year which if you listened to the commercials on radio, were some of the worst promotions I've heard and even the guys on their own station KNBR made fun of the slogan. Dolich was in the front office brass during this time and he may have been the best PR man in bay area sports history. I know he was brought in specifically to get a new stadium built but damn, I'd bet he could've made a better slogan for the season than "put your game face on". And if I remember right, that was the season when it just started bad with Nolan being brought back as the HC when he shouldn't have and really it was a throw away season until he got fired as there was no way he was gonna be the head coach beyond that season.
Really did both SF teams use the same marketing firm that year?
Remember the A's in the late 90s-early 2000s actually won awards for their marketing/commercials but they've downhill since.

Also the slogan the W's used before it's a great time out was pretty bad too.
The whole MIB thing with PJ and the bunch and "no more mister nice guys". Funny that was the year Spree choked him out too.

ESPN Mike and Mike did their preview of the A's.
-said Sheets when healthy is one of the best in the game but that's a huge IF.
-Keith Law had his remark on the A's saying they'll have one of the better pitching staffs and defenses in the bigs but will they score enough runs. Thinks personally Anderson in the next few seasons will be a Cy Young candidate but he's gonna need help from the offense to back him up.
-their "fantasy sleeper" was Fox.
-their projections they use have the A's winning around 78 games.
