Bryant Young

San Jose St. hires BY

"SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Four-time Pro Bowl selection Bryant Young, a mainstay on the defensive line for the San Francisco 49ers, was one of four assistant coaches hired by San Jose State's Mike MacIntyre on Thursday".
He had 2 other job offers, 1 as a GA with the ND staff again and Rob Ianello offered him to be the DL position coach on his staff at Akron. He coached with Ianello at ND last year. In the end he decided he wanted to be back in the bay and had a connection with SJSU. Good for BY.

It's all good, I feel you it's early and we still lack caffeine.
Not associated with topic other than name but if Cortez Kennedy and John Randle are probables in the HOF vote, Bryant Young will make it sooner than I originally thought.

This is not the homer in me talking but Bryant Young was the best defensive player on a very good niner defense for several years (of the front seven). There was never a time when I would have rather had Randle or Kennedy instead of Young.

I'd like to think BY could have a shot but unfortunately I think he could be a player who will get overlooked.
