Yeah Pete I have flown down the 15 at 5:30 am and got to vegas in 2.5-3hrs from LA.

I hate your team. I mean that with a ton of respect attached to it. I just know that whenever we play you guys, I'm going to be cussing at the TV. I pray to God you don't get Wade. He's exactly what you need.

Actually, if you guys got Wade, it would lead to some epic WCFs, so yeah...I hope you do get him.

No one wants to go to Houston... Let's be honest.

You don't know much about Houston apparently. They've always attracted top FAs going back to Scottie Pippen, Also, about 60% of all athletes seem to have an off season home there, likely due to the fact it's cheap for a lot of land and no state tax. Some athletes are actually more concerned with being athletes than celebrites.

Yeah so they go to places where they will actually win rather than places they wouldn't. Let's be honest for a minute, The Rockets won't be winning anything significant anytime soon. So why even go there? You don't have to live in the same place where you play. They are hardly home in the first place.

You have to be the biggest homer ever. Anyone who watches the NBA can see Houston is and has been a winning franchise for the better part of 30 years. They have a winning record right now with one of the youngest squads in the league and no superstar and a GM who drafts as well as anyone has in years. The current team took last year's champ to 7 games while losing it's star midseason. You don't think a star player would want to go to that situation, rather than go to a team that already has an established pecking order? You said no one would want to go and got a reply with a list of FAs who have been some of the best players of the last 20 years, thus disproving your statment.
Case in point: didn't Houston just land a young up and coming FA from LA just 6 months ago?

More like a Texan's homer point of view. I can see a lot of truth in that post, but there are a couple of stretches, too. The current team did not take last years champs to 7 games. It was broken up in the offseason. Your biggest superstar is currently on the Lakers as our 3/4/5th best player, basically switched out for an up and comer who is struggling big time. And some of the best players of the last 20 years? Who? McGrady? Yeah, you guys are all in love with him. Scottie Pippen? Child please. Where'd that get you? I'll give you clyde and barkley, but they went there to play with The Dream, and there isn't a player even half the caliber on that squad now.

You guys are playing well right now, but do you really think that this is going to last throughout the whole season and into a deep playoff run? Artest isn't going to be there to bail you out when Yao fails to help your team again. I hardly think that the role player you guys have in Ariza is going to lead your team anywhere. I mean, I love the guy for what he did for us, but he's not that type of player.

Good game last night, though.

Barkley, Pippen, MCgrady, Clyde, Artest weren't great players at the time? How many other teams have acquired that kind of talent they didn't draft? And Artest wasn't really that great for us in last year's playoffs, it was a team effort and if anything Brooks was the difference in the games we won. As far as this year, no one was expecting anything, for us to be where we are just means we're ahead of schedule. No one thinks Ariza will carry the team, but he has hardly dissapointed, a 25 year old posting career highs in every catagory I would consider a pretty good signing, and it didn't take much loot to do it.
Brooks, Ariza, Landry is a pretty nice and very young core, with Budinger showing signs is a pretty good base. Not to mention Scola, Battier and Hayes (maybe the best low post defender in the league). Wait till we get that star and see how good this team will be.

I basically addressed all the points you mentioned. My point is you are making it out to be like Houston is a players dream place to play, when it clearly is not.

The dream place for every player to be is.............well.........yeah, don't make me say it.

God you sound like a 49ers fan. Wait until next year when we add that piece... blah blah blah... When was the last time Houston has won anything significant? You have a Center who will most likely never be fully healthy again and you have a few players who would be bench players on most good teams. Ariza has been pretty inconsistant this year along with the last couple of games. Houston is jus playing over their heads right now please see that.

Not at all what I was saying. I was replying to the other guy who said no one wants to play there, which history clearly proves is untrue.

What I am saying is that any of you Rocket fans calling any of us homers would jus be hypocritical of you.

Ariza is going out, it's time to make our run before he comes back in and **** up everything again. I'm tired with this guy, he's absoltely terrible, I haven't seen a player get his minutes play as bad as he's played. He might actually be the worst player in the NBA. Anybody that defends that statement is retarded.

I can pull quotes from lakers board about how much they hate Bynum, Fisher, Sasha, Walton, & Farmar.
What does this prove, you keep reminding us about Ariza's inconsistent play this year, point proven jeez. No rocket fan said he was MJ or pippen that was the lakers fans last year. Relax on the Trevor stats we get it.
Try pulling some of your starting centers rebounding numbers.

Whoa Pete, I think you hit a sensitive spot there.

No, that isn't what you were saying and you were proven wrong. MOST Houston fans are more critical of the team than anyone.

Sure, but there isn't a 23 page thread about how much Laker fans hate Bynum, or any other Laker. link

Bynum's effort on the boards has been crap, but it's not like he's the worst in the league at it.

And if you didn't want to hear about Ariza's shooting percentage, maybe you should have waited more than 5 games to get excited about him.

Trust me I live in LA, there are plenty of people who hate Bynum, listen to radio, read latimes blog, they called his play earlier this year "cute" on the pre-game show.
Listening to game yesterday Joel Meyers said Bynum can't rebound to save his life.
^He has been terrible on the boards since Pau came back, no doubt. But he's also not crapping all over himself the way that Ariza has been. His numbers are up across the board as the function of minutes, but it only took 25 games for him to become loathed on the Rocket's boards that I've seen.

For somebody trying to crack on Pete as hard as you are about him going after Ariza, what about you and this whole Bynum's rebounding thing? The guy just put up 24/8/1/1/2 on your boys. That's a helluva a night for most centers in this league.

When you point the finger little mr Hollywood, there are 4 more pointing right back at you.
