Because of the steroids?

Because he laughs at anyone who votes for someone other than a Cardinals player.

Oh, I know. I just wanted to hear him justify it.

My favorite is still, "I wouldn't trade Pietrus for Kobe"

He actually said that?

lol at Ovechkin. He just made his first Conference Finals yesterday. Conference. Not even Stanley Cup.

He hasn't had a single 100 point season in the 2010s either. He's a goal scorer and nothing else.

It's between Kane and Crosby. Crosby is 1st in points since the start of the 2010 season and has two Cups in that time. Kane is 3rd in points (only 12 back) and has three Cups.

Also, Trout is crazy, historically good but his rookie year was 2012. Meanwhile, Kershaw is crazy, historically good and has dominated every year in question. It's Kershaw in baseball.

Trout plays every day. Since 2012 Trout has a 56.8 WAR. In that same span, Kershaw has a 41.3 WAR. Kershaw is the best pitcher of his era, no question, but Mike Trout is the best overall player. Im not going to disqualify him for being player of the decade just because he didn't really play in the first 2 years of it.

And Ovechkin might just be a goal scorer, but hes a 3 time MVP with a realistic shot at passing Gretzky for goals scored, which is insane. He also didn't have an MVP like Malkin playing with him the entire time.

Depends on criteria.

Sidney is the most accomplished player of the decade, but benefits from having a top 10 player of the decade playing behind him (Malkin). He is the best point producer in the decade, played great in playoffs, and won.

Ovechkin has been more important to his team. Best goal scorer, top 5 goal scorer ever in my opinion. But has been one dimensional and some of the reliance on him is by design. As of now, he hasn't won. He's a Dan Marino vs Crosby's Montana.

Honorable mentions in my book are:,Eric Karlsson, Duncan Keith, Patrick Kane, Drew Doughty, evgeni Malkin, Carey Price, Patrice Bergeron
NFL: Brady
NBA : LBJ
MLB : Trout
NHL : Crosby
Soccer : Messi

if it wasn't for his awful playoff performance every year, i would agree, since he's pretty much the only player to be great for more than 8 years in the past decade. Trout is my choice, but it's only been 5 and half years so far.

Again, he's 4th in points for the decade and is just now making his first Conference finals. Ovechkin has no good argument to be the best player.

As far as the goal record, he's averaged 41 goals the past two seasons. He'd have to maintain that average for 7 more seasons to tie. That takes him to just shy of being 40. He's got a shot. Wouldn't quite say it is realistic.

He's a great player. Crosby is just better.
In baseball I will go with the best player of this generation. Mike Trout is the obvious answer.

Baseball Mike Trout
Basketball Lebron James
Football Tom Brady
Hockey Sidney Crosby
Golf Rory McIlroy
Tennis Serena Williams
no denying that Kobe was a friggin beast in his prime.

Just not a team player.

And who HO HOO HOOO HOOO WHOOO? would've thought that Minning would choke so bad in his second to last S.B. and eat his own balls in his last SB?

Oh? Please tell us about Trout's amazing playoff performances. If you hold Kershaw to that standard you should apply it to Trout as well
