It's baseball, does anyone care about cheating?

Yeah, I'll take a little spit over 'roids.
Just stop it. He obviously missed the ball, and it wasn't even close.

He's one the best pitchers in baseball and arguably the best closer in history. He just spit on the ground and it happened to go near the ball.

With all the cameras, players, and coaches watching him every pitch, do you really think he would try and cheat (like that anyways) with all eyes on him in a playoff game?

He doesn't need to and wasn't. Even the Angel's players and coaches said this is ridiculous. He's the last pitcher in baseball that needs to doctor the ball.

Exactly. Well said. The guy is the greatest relief pitcher ever and he is not going to tarnish that in such a stupid way.

Barry Bonds, Roger Clements, and Mark McGuire agree. Along with Sammy Sosa, Manny, Big papi, and on, and on...

Not that I think or care about the so called cheating.

Just a bit different. Spitting on the ball on the mound with millions watching would be about the same as taking a needle in the ass in the batters box. I would not be all that shocked to find out that Rivera took roids ( or almost anyone in baseball for that matter). I just dont think he would risk being busted on national TV in an obvious attempt to cheat. He would be suspended for the rest of the playoffs.

Regardless, he didn't spit on the ball. Are we going to persecute people for something they didn't do? I find it hard to believe that a player of Rivera's greatness would be so ignorant to the fact that there are 100 HD cameras on him and he thought he could just slip a luggi on the ball while out on the mound.
