Eh...I hate the Yanks, but he seems like a pretty stand-up guy. Plus, if he was doing this, he probably would have been caught long before - it's not like the cameras aren't on the pitcher in these situations.

i don't watch baseball and have no idea what spitting on a ball would do, but that guy was definitely trying to spit on that ball.

Seriously though... I don't know what the difference is between spitting directly on the ball vs licking your fingers and applying it to the ball. I don't know if finger licking is still practiced, but I used to see that all the time back in the day.
