hmmm....Raycroft is a good signing. We needed a backup for Lehtonen.
Burish? WTF? We just signed Krys Barch who is our resident tough guy on the 4th line. I knew they wanted a right handed physical winger, which is why I wanted them to get Raffi Torres...Now we got Barch, Burish, Sutherby, and Segal. Way to go Stars, stock up on those 4th liners and still not add ONE DEFENCEMAN
Do you have any upcoming rookies/prospects? Anything?
We have Scott Glennie (8th overall pick last year). He is 19 and just finished a year in Canadian juniors with 89 pts in 66 games on the highest scoring line in Juniors (plays with Schenn the #5pick by the Kings). He is a speedy goal scorer who is legit.
He could make the jump and play on our team on the 3rd line this upcoming season. But he just looks way too damn skinny (6-1 and 170lbs) to make the jump. I think he needs some seasoning in minors to add more muscle and make the jump next year. But both Neal and Benn made the jump early and were able to have 20-goal rookie campaigns, so its possible he arrives early.
Our other prospect is Philip Larsen (D) who is an undersized guy but good skater and good with the puck. He is penciled in to play for our AHL team next year. I think we will let Trevor Daley go after next season and then call up Larsen. I can't stand Daley so I hope this is what happens.
Other then those 2, we don't have anything. Erikson (LW), Neal (LW), Benn (LW/C), Wandell (C) Grossman(D), Fistric (D), and Niskanen (D) are all under 25 and already are playing major rolls on our roster. Long term I think our team is set at forward, except for maybe 1 more right winger. But Defensive depth is really lacking.
