Vick has always been known as a great open-field runner who has yet to establish himself as an accurate passer. Pryor, a sophomore who was the top quarterback recruit in the nation two years ago, is also praised as a runner but has faced similar questions about his passing ability.

Pryor threw a late interception that resulted in a Navy touchdown with 2:23 remaining that pulled the Midshipmen to 29-27. Navy went for the tying two-point conversion, but Ohio State linebacker Brian Rolle intercepted and returned the pass 99 yards for two points. The Buckeyes then recovered an onside kick.

A noted scrambler on the field, Vick was a three-time Pro Bowl pick during six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.

Pryor, who completed 14 of 21 passes for 174 yards and a touchdown against Navy, didn’t think Vick was getting a fair shot.

Asked if he had seen the tribute to Vick on the 6-foot-6 Pryor’s face, Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said he hadn’t noticed it.

“I’m not tall enough to see his eyebrows,“ Tressel said. “I don’t know what he had.“

OSU has scheduled USC and Texas OOC the past 5 years, with Cal and Miami coming up. Who does the PAC 10 schedule that is so great? Keep in mind I'm also a UCLA fan so I'm not a homer on this one. Oregon generally schedules good OOC games, I'll give you that. USC almost never did before OSU last year.

PAC-10 has about twice as many tough OOC opponents despite having fewer teams.

I'm not knocking OSU's nonconference schedule. They had the balls to schedule USC, so I have no problems with them. But it's generally unanimous that the Pac-10 schedules the toughest OOC games.

Look at last year:

UW: Oklahoma, BYU, Notre Dame
SC: OSU, Notre Dame, UVA
UCLA: Tennessee, BYU, Fresno State
Oregon State: Penn State, Hawaii, Utah
Cal: MSU, Maryland, Colorado State
ASU: Georgia, Northern Arizona, UNLV
Oregon: Utah State, Purdue, Boise State
WSU: Oklahoma State, Baylor, Portland State
Stanford: TCU, San Jose State, Notre Dame
Arizona: Idaho, Toledo, New Mexico

Every team with the exception of Arizona played a top 25 team OOC.


Now look at this year:

Arizona: Iowa, Central Michigan, Northern Arizona
ASU: Georgia, Idaho State, Louisiana Monroe
Cal: Maryland, Minnesota, Eastern Washington
Oregon: Boise State, Utah, Purdue
Oregon State: Cincinnatti, Portland State, UNLV
Stanford: Notre Dame, Wake Forest, San Jose State
UCLA: Tennessee, Kansas State, SDSU
SC: OSU, San Jose State, Notre Dame
UW: LSU, Notre Dame, Idaho
WSU: Hawaii, Notre Dame, SMU

Again, every team in the league is playing a preseason top 25 opponent OOC except for Cal and UCLA, who still have pretty tough OOC schedules.
