Most Overrated Sports Moments

In my mind one of the most overrated moments is the Catch2. I know I will take heat for it but Owens was lucky we even thru the ball his way after 7 drops that day.

Being able to get off 63 shots and get to the line 32 times or 46/20 times in an NBA game is a talent in and of itself. No way "anyone" could do it, because very few people can hit the amount of tough, contested shots time & time again that it requires to do that. Jordan led the league in FG attempts NINE times. Why? Because only he could get that many decent shots off in the first place.

As for Wilt vs. Kobe, I think that Kobe's was the more impressive feat. Shocking, I know. Kobe's TS% was 10 points higher, the Warriors intentionally fouled the Knicks at the end of the game so Wilt could score more points, Wilt played 48 minutes compared to 42 for Kobe, and Wilt's game had 46% more possessions than Kobe's game did. Had Kobe played the 6 extra minutes, had 46% more possessions, and scored at the same rate.....he would have scored 135 points.

If you deflate Wilt's numbers to the conditions that Kobe scored his 81 in, it equates to 68 points.

Umm I see what you are saying, but since no one has come close to it, it makes it pretty special. Plus, taking 63 shots in a no-shot clock era is incredible in itself.

The shot clock came into play in the 1954-55 season, before Wilt's 100 points in 1962.

In the 1961-62 season, the average NBA team scored 118.8 points per game.
In the 2005-06 season, the average NBA team scored 97.0 points per game.
