This is exactly what I thought when I watched his highlights. This guy's a couple presnap hand circles away from worthless potential.

I don't see the connection with Marcus Maxwell. Maxwell was a division one player who got lots of attention and had seen a lot of action by the time he entered the NFL. Lockette is raw talent without much experience.
Something about the way he runs routes reminds me of marcus maxwell. I know he is fast but he just doesnt look very explosive on tape. And he is playing with scrubs. Singletarys not in charge anymore our talents on the field not in the locker room. I'm all for developing the kid and I really hope he helps our team and kaep but something about his personality rubs me the wrong way.

I really hope that he can develop. He is a physical specimen. If we can get a 6'3 215 pound receiver who runs a 4.3 to be our #2 guy and be a solid contributor that'll be huge!

for everything but especially the bold. Go niners(!)

One reason why I'm interested to see what this guy can do. It seems like his work ethic is way up there and if he wants it badly enough, with his size and athletic attributes, who knows what can happen. Coming out of college, everyone knew he'd be raw, very raw, so its good to see him have the opportunity to develop and see what happens.

yeah i saw that photo too, he spent christmas dinner with Kaep and his family.

since he also rents a room at Kaep's townhouse during the season, kaep is probably rubbing off on him in terms of work ethic.

btw, he just signed a 2 year contract worth $1M, so if he does produce we are getting him for real cheap.

He's already going to be 27 in June. The guy needs to start showing something, soon.

Harbaugh is smart. He's got a super fast and sort of big WR on the practice squad. This means Lockette can recreate certain matchups for our Defense. The guy is probably missing something critical to not be in the lineup.
pete carroll is a good talent evaluator and it says something that he cut bait with lockette and didn't even try to put him on their PS. his hands aren't very good either, i'm not holding my breath.
I like that he is working with Kap. Who knows maybe they will build some chemistry and he will show something in the preseason. Guys have come out of nowhere before.

LOL
The biggest knocks on Lockette are poor route running and not that good at cutting during the route. Blazing speed, decent hands, needs to work on concentration. If he can come out of camp at #3 on the depth chart - whoa
Marcus Maxwell couldn't sniff the field on a talent deprived offense. Lockette actually catches bombs in his rookie year, one of them was against us. He can be polished and developed with our coaches. Maxwell was just a tall guy that ran fast. Lockette is an actual WR.
