I'll say the '97 NFC title game vs. the Pack. I truly believed the 49ers were good enough to defeat them that day and to finally end their losing streak against those boys. It was painful watching the 49ers lost to them on their home turf!

2011 the way that defense played all year, to rob them of a title was ridiculous

1990 - Roger Craig's fumble. I was only 9, but I still hate the Giants to this day for that (and last year.)

97.
The Niners were great at overcoming their demons on the 3rd try. Really felt Eddie D. built that team (through FA) to overcome the Packers, but lo and behold...Favre gutted us again. As great as Steve Young was (for some of you youngsters that didnt see him play), his career was almost an exact copy of Peyton Manning's. Unstoppable in the regular season, always coming up short in the big games.

90' and 92' were the worst. Both left me with an equally nauseous feeling. 90' maybe a little more because the game was in the bag and they would have most likely 3 peated.

I still feel we would have lost that Superbowl had we made it. We limped into the playoffs and barely beat Detroit at home to even make it to DC. The Raiders were rolling and would have been tough to beat . . . as evidenced by the factthat they curb stomped the Skins.

The three peat killer was tough to swallow. Would have solidified Montana and those niners as the best in NFL history.

I did think of that game but didn't know what one or 2 things that stood out as the
"oooohhhh crap!" reason as to what mostly contributed to the loss.

It would've sucked cuz Montana wouldn't have been able to play in the Super Bowl since his elbow was injured by a Giant....ON PURPOSE.
