I'm sorry if this has been discussed before but I was wondering if anyone knows the wherabouts of John Taylor. I was just watching The Ed Debartolo story of NFL Network and it got me to wondering about JT. He didn't appear in any interviews or anything else.
Is JT still alive? Associated w/ football?

Isn't he running a trucking company?

From Wiki: "Taylor used to own a trucking company but still drives a truck and leads a pretty quiet life off the field. His only moments in any sort of spotlight come when he's participating in celebrity golf events, such as ones sponsored by his alma mater, Delaware State. In 2005, he was inducted into the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame. He currently lives in Clovis, California."

Taylor had great hands and wicked moves - very under-rated. And, what a class act, playing opposite Jerry Rice and never the slightest bitterness or whining about his chances. Taylor owns two of the greatest moments in Niner history: obviously, the catch at the end of the '88 season's Superbowl, but also that incredible Rams game where he took two different short slants from Montana and turned both of them into 90-yard TD's. Great player.

He's still driving truck. My girlfriend's father knows him personally.

Playing second fiddle to the GOAT is not to shabby...A good example of Eddy D. taking care of ALL his players.

Does he drive for himself (owner operator) or as an employee for another company?

He probably still has a devastating straight-arm.

He was a very underrated downfield blocker, too. Class act.

Loved JT, perhaps my favorite Niner, hence my screen name.
To the OP, there's a pic of him on here participating at a training camp event at the Stick this past summer signing autographs....pretty cool that he was there.

How can we bring him back for a webchat or something through 49ers.com?
Taylor was very shy with the media after that drug suspension in 1988. Would love to hear more from him.

I sure wish we went back to white shoes and striped socks. When a franchise has as much history as the 49ers do, there are certain things, if anything, that you just shouldn't change.
... like shoe/sock color combinations
