People here seem to forget that last year's New York Giants had a 4 game losing streak at one point from Week 10 to Week 13, and in Week 15 looked like crap against a bad Redskins team, losing 23-10. I'm not saying that I can predict for sure whether or not the Niners can make the Superbowl, as making the SB is a tough task year in, year out. But basing our gloomy pessimism on the Seahawks game, knowing all the surrounding circumstances of that game, seems a bit extreme. We still have a great shot at making the SB, even if we don't get a first round bye. We have just as good a shot as any other team in the NFC to make the SB, so let's calm down a bit and have some faith in our team.

It's hard to believe at this point. This team is down too many Smiths. I don't see this team keeping up a dynamic style of play needed for the playoffs, while also keeping the mistakes down to a minimum.
Without Justin Smith helping the team suffocate offenses, Kaep is going to have to put more points on the board, and I don't like him out dueling Rodgers, Ryan, RGIII, Wilson, or even maybe Romo.

How could we not have a chance of making it. We could still possibly get a 1st round bye and even if we don't, a wildcard team has won the past few Super Bowls. The Giants were 9-7 last year in the regular season and ended up winning the Super Bowl.
I thought we were the 49er faithful. Right now, I'm seeing half the people voting on this poll showing no faith at all. I can't believe that many of you give up so easy after one loss .

Hellz naw....this has been going on since WEEK 1.... I don't understand how we didn't commit penalties like these last year but we can't seem to stop this year. And poor pass protection dates back to days of Steve Young... Seriously we haven't had a good PP oline in over 10 years or more..

it takes a whole team and in regards to ck i would like him to get plays off at the line so we do not have to burn time outs and take penalties, there is no excuse for this to happen every f**king week. you can blame the coaches and that is fine but that part of the game is on his head in my opinion

ONE GAME? I do not mean to be mean but come on man.. we sucked vs the rams, we sucked in two quarters vs the dolphins and played only two good quarters vs the pats, we lack the consistency other teams have right now. i also think justin is done for the year and the coaches are just dreading the day they have to announce that to the world.

I'm glad someone still has a sense of reality.

Surprised less than half think we can win it
This team will be very pissed off heading into the playoffs...I'm more concerned about the well being of players on the opposing teams.

This!!!! The implosion is happening at the wrong time. I have faith and always will as long as we get into the dance, but having to play 3 games to get tothe SB doesnt bode well for our current team and depth/injuries we have. I knew the QB change was gonna come back to bite Jim this year, I just didnt know when. I like Kaep, but he wasnt the answer this year, and I hate to say that. We had a good thing going with Alex, but I think Jim's ego got the better of this team.
I dont believe we will have enough in the tank if we dont get the BYE and even then, we couldnt get it done last year with 2 playoff home games, so I have my doubts.
Hope we get it done!!!!!

Haven't strung together more than 2 wins all season long and I'm somehow supposed to believe that they can win 4 straight in the playoffs? I'd say SB odds are slim to none at this point.

Not with the offense we are running and all the injuries. We have no depth at DL at all and our CB are sucking. We have practically forgotten about WC offense and Gore. Harbaugh and Roman have made the Offense so complicated compare to last year. I just see it way too late to fix it, but I won't lose total hope until we get kicked off. For now I'm just happy we are in the playoffs.
