Alex will get screwed again. A team wil sign him for the sole purpose of reviewing how Jim's offense works.

Alex Smith has not been screwed over by Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers. He is a very limited quarterback that cannot see the whole field, can't go through all his progressions, indecisive in terms of getting rid of the football, lacks deep ball accuracy. On the positive note, he is a nice guy. Harbaugh has given Smith more than an ample opportunity to make this team a legitimate threat as a Super Bowl contender. Before Harbaugh arrived on the scene, Smith was labeled as a first round bust. He is now a "game manager". The 49ers made it to the NFC championship game and a 13-3 record last year primarily because of our #1 defense, stellar special teams play, and Frank Gore. Any objective football fan can observe that quarterback play has been a weak link on this football team since at least Jeff Garcia left town. It is a breath of fresh air to finally have a quarterback to have the potential to lead us to the Super Bowl.

Still, he's no Brady. With Brady that wide open VD pass is for six. I was awestruck watching Brady making his comeback. Everything was just lightning quick releases right on the money. Boom-boom-boom! I was like dam.
That said, if "he's no Brady" is the worst you can say about a quaterback you're in good shape.
Brady is an amazing quarterback, but our coaches let him get back into the game. The door was shut, and we opened it back up a crack. Give Brady an inch, and he'll take a mile.

HA! so get his ass out of there.... do you want a Starting QB or some LBers coach tagging along?
But I don't think Alex goes there because of Ponder....Alex is better than Ponder right now, but the team might want to see alittle more what they have on the guy. The good thing for the Vikes is that with the new contract rules for draft picks, they didn't invest much into Ponder so hey shorter waiting time to prove himself...or being forced to trying to make it work.
Ponder played like f'n Aaron Rodgers against us.

I've wanted to keep this to myself, for the sanity of the board...but realistically, Alex is not going to choose where he wants to go...he'll get the Shaun Hill treatment. Get traded to our FO's choosing.
away from the NFC West...heck maybe way to the AFC South to the Jags....even if its for a 6th rd pick (if better teams try play the "they have to cut him game, we'll wait")

Discount Doublecheck is showing his fear of what a CK led offense can do. And rightly so.

The Jets are a mess. That would be the worst team for him to go to. Raiders, Kansas City, Jaguars would be better choices IMO.......

Yep, Alex had time & opportunity to remain a starter. He only needs to look in a mirror to find the reason Kap is running the show.

I think Jax and KC are good fits for Alex.

How about an Alex for Clay Mathews trade? Just kidding. He needs the right situation to be successful, kind of like what he had here. When he was a free agent, the only team that showed interest was Miami. I don't think they are still interested. I don't know, he is a classy guy, so I wish him well.

I heard today on M&M this morning that the Jets will have a $17million cap hit next season if they drop Sanchez. I don't see them bringing in Alex unless it is on the cheap.

The last full game Smith played he won NFC Offensive Player of the Week. The last drive he lead the team scored a TD. WTF are you talking about? Smith lost his job to a concussion. He had no opportunity to remain the starter.

Dumb move giving Sanchez more money despite not needed to. The Jets are just a bad organization.

Afrikan has the right thought here... A million bucks is peanuts to pay for an extra draft pick, we pick up the bonus and move him to the highest bidder. There are about 5 teams with really bad QB situations who will want a stable, safe, veteran guy like Alex who is a real team player and can hold down the position without hurting the team for a few years. Hell if I was Baltimore I would be considering letting Flacco go the way he is killing that team right now and go with a much cheaper Alex and draft pick combo. Ride the D and Ray Rice for a few years. I am hoping for a 3rd rounder this year for Smith bringing our possible total to 3 in the 3rd round after compensatory.
