What are you talking about? How am I trying to "save face"? How many times do I have to explain this? The defense gave up 14 points in the first quarter. Then they gave up only 10 in the 4 combined subsequent quarters. That's 2.5 pts per quarter compared to 14. This is ridiculous. I hate that I'm being dragged into such a silly argument when it should be blatantly obvious that the defense played much better after the first quarter of the game. It's ultimately irrelevant to the larger point which was now so many posts ago that I can't even remember what it was.

And how is it AS's responsibility to stop the defense giving up 2 tds in 2 full drives? That's ridiculous and those kinds of stretched, meaningless arguments only dilute any real analysis on this board.

It IS his responsibility to score pts. Lets not pretend Alex was known for playing from behind. He has a reputation for not being able to play from behind. He only had a hand full of games won from behind. Like I said before, if you are honest, his only positive attribute over Kap is his experience and tendency not to take chances, which gives him this misconception that he is immune to turn overs.

I do all of those things, so I'm not sure what your point is. Criticizing Kap for his mistakes is not the same as rooting against him. I criticized Alex when he was the starter too. That doesn't mean I didn't root for him to do well. I can also think that Alex is the better option at QB and hope that Kap does well for us.

OK thats reasonable. But counting OT it is fair to put that specific loss on Akers because unlike posted above about him missing a low percentage field goal, it was a 41 yd field goal which up until that kick he had been 15 for 16 so far this season.

Definitely. There's no excuse for Akers missing that kick, but that doesn't mean the tie is all his fault. It's not all Kap's fault either or all anyone's fault.
